I have a lot of diamonds but the only thing I can use it on is master of time which grants way faster speed for 5 hours.

There are road plug-ins with free tunnels

You can build "road authority" for 120 diamonds and you will have unlimited tunnels for the city. So that will make about 35 cities with unlimited tunnels for 4k diamonds!
