Basically i mean i usually have one road and a line of building surrounded by it and i think it looks really ugly.Does anyone know a good way to like make it look better, like a certain layout.

Also, by the areas. i mean how do i split it all, do i split commercial, industrial and residential away? But commercial and industrial never seem to get good transportation, so how do i make it so it's still together but not as busy?

Use grids, the easiest one to build and it's good for beginners/newbies.
