Ive been adding residential zones and keeping up with the city demand, also trying to make the citizens happy

maybe all buildings that were being built for some reason aren't dense enough?

Theres no reason for rich residential to move out without a reason. Did you have a crisis recently which upset the residents? Like a fire maybe? And what were you doing when you noticed this?

I haven't had any recent crisis in the city, the population decline started after I built a neighboring city, although with the in-game time red City is years ahead

Have you considered that it could be that you don't have enough commercial and industrial zones?

The city has pretty much stayed the same since it's creation, which has about the same layout just a bit smaller
