Seems to be a display issue, delete .prefs file in your Home folder

I deleted the .prefs folder and it didn't solve it, I cleaned the Theotown folder and it didn't solve it. I deleted the save data from the steam userdata folder and it still remains. The screen opens with an explanation of how the "accounts" screen works... @somber wyvern

As far as TheoTown is concerned, your account does not exist in the backend.

Guess it just displays your Steam account which you are currently using to access the game.

It's a UI issue

It should be displayed under steam instead
