There are a lot of cheap dyes you could buy from the trading post, less than 1 silver

you can check which ones you have unlocked and which you dont via gw2efficiency, you just need to link your api to the website

i played through core and Heart of Thorns and i think all of the living story that bridge HoT with PoF back when i was initially enthralled with this game

i just never finished PoF so i'm missing some of the stuff there and while i could simply resume as one of my 80s/as the 80 that i think i did any of PoF with....

game is casual and is built to be a marathon. Just log in and do whatever you want to progress.
Only thing I would ever suggest anyone "rush" is unlocked some mounts. Can't remember the specifics but I think the skyscale is time gated so playing the first ~2-5 hours of SOTO to start the skyscale might be a good idea.
I think I also finished Path of Fire before finishing Heart of Thorns because of mounts. Playing all expansions in order isn't required. Especially not if you don't care about story

but untill endgame you can go full solo

When youre 80 you'll do a lot of dungeon like content and open world pve with people

But largely your experience levelling at first will be exploring and doing your story

There's also pvp/wvw you can do to level which is all party based, but wvw uses your pve gear so it's best to wait to get too invested in that, I heard

also, this doesn't change much, it's one thing i don't really love on gw2. You have access to all your abilities from lvl 1 basically. Later on you have access to specializations, but 90% of the time it's passives that will help you do some rotations, very few have actual new abilities from what i know. maybe @pale flint can explain more?
