For what seems to be an extremely expansive world, I wonder how better a writing similar to soulsborne would have fared

as in, having lore and stories be very succinct, not too verbose but still saying a lot and spread throughout the world

I also wonder if it isn't just an even easier writing approach in general; you can just write a big chunk of lore and eventually remove some parts, shuffle them, to give the player a bit of agency in piecing the elements together

It just feels like one of the best approaches for rewarding the player when it comes to exploration, other than loot and the like
