so my experience varies alot lol

I've played most of the tales of games and I think vesperia captivated me the most because it feels the most like those old ff games (ff7/8)

Small rpg elements and not that much hand holding unlike the other titles

The characters are a plus but it's mostly the open world aspect of it that feels nice

The real enemy is the camera

Combat is very different for several of the games here. Symphonia is a good introduction to the earliest games while vesperia is a good introduction to the mid series combat.

i think a good starting point to learn the 2.5d combat of the middle tales games is symphonia (but idk what the pc port is like)

buut of those i like vesperia the best

U can upgrade all guns to a lvl 4 variant, gives it better reload/ fire rate etc just depends on gun, it's what makes stuff good
White - all guns minus the rattler here are very cheap and very very good at lvl r
Green - anvil (deagle- is good if u upgrade it to lvl 3 or 4)
Blue - has the best gun a pistol that does crazy dam
Purple - all of these are mid, decent if lvl 4 but just use the white items
Legendary - energy weps only good vs arc

i know in these games you spend a lot of time on horseback or in cars,. but during the story you spend A LOT of time on the ground, running around set pieces, shooting etc

and then in gta 5, whne you get into the car that weighty feeling just goes away

it would be SO MUCH better if the car had that weighty sluggishness too it, but they overcorrected whne people didnt like the (superior) driving stlye in 4 and so now every car feels near weightless and handles basically the same minus differences in acceleration and speed
