#How do you find a mentor?
4 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hi @lethal sail , Usually in events like GDC, (not sure about GCAP) IGDA offers 1-to-1 mentoring sessions at specific dates/times. In some events is not IGDA but some other organization. IGDA offers some mentorships activities in remote form, maybe @cosmic sierra can tell you about it. Another option are Accelerators/Incubators, like Google IGA or GTR, that offer that as part of the process. Finally, if none of these options work for you, you can always ask to other devs in these channels, with specific questions or asking for specific type of mentorships. Sadly, not sure why, this IGDA discord channel is quite slow on that regard, there is not too much people interacting, other than showing their current projects or the like. Regards!
@lethal sail Hi! The IGDA actually has an online mentorship program for members. You can learn more about it here https://igda.org/resourcelibrary/global-mentorship-program/
Thank you both, I hope to be able to attend the next GDC "funds allowing" >_> But i'll check out the other options and the link Suzanne put up also 👀
