#Can't interact with ball and disc while spawning

If your pose consistency is too good, you can't do a ball-straight or disc-straight combo. Because the ball and disc are still spawning, they are invalid targets to your straight. And since you are already in the straight pose, you first have to go out of that pose before you can try again.

I know my poses are right, as my straight can interact with other structures than the spawning ball/disc and the tutorial shows it was the right pose.
This is not a problem in the steam version.

it feels weird too cos you have to pull back or do a weird wiggle motion to get the ball straight to go off

Yes, as long you are already at a straight pose you need to wait out the pose cooldown and first get out of the pose. So something really felt off, until I figured out the reason.

if you raise your hand up more from summoning ball and then back down into the straight it works pretty consistently

so I'd say this bug might be "things take longer to spawn than in pcvr" ?

Also, a quick note, we have done a huge jump in engine version compared to the current live version. That engine upgrade has brought changes with it to the physics engine that have impacted the overall feel and timing of some aspects of combat.

Most of the changes in physics are applicable on the PC version now as well, but not each one and there can be complications in physics that only arrise on the standalone platforms

Not being able to ball-straight is annoying indeed, I kept getting caught off-guard by it. I'd love for it to be fixed, please please please!

it definitely feels super weird. i tend you mix up chip damage in my playstyle and it's bit me in the rear more than once. it felt even weirder in my head when i couldn't apply explode to it as fast

It just ask you to wait 0.5 (or something) seconds to do it. Its not that big of a deal.

It feels really clunky... As I usually already move quite slowly for ball straight. But my poses are just wel optimized for the most minimal transition. Now I have to pause my poses to do them slow enough and I am still too early frequently...

It should be explain again and again that for a physics based beta game relying on muscle memory to be the same across years of development is a fever dream. Devs should probably diver their attention towards real bugs like the 0g, the friend queue and other things than this

I 💯 agree, some stuff are way more important. No voice chat bug is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more important to me.

But that doesn't mean this shouldn't be mentioned. Especially since the devs did not intend this change and need to figure out why things became so much slower or if people are fine with the unintentional change or not.

Yup, Kaj told us that this change wasn't intentional. They didn't change the numbers, but they did change their physics engine, which apparently made everything slower.

I like that accidental change. Doesn't seem to change what you do just how fast you do it.

Use the pillar spring set up and you are good. It's a arena fighting game, it still is strange that you would want to fly away from a match you willingly got yourself into

Ive found out more about this, you can hold the ball and disk immediately, and you can modify the ball after youve held it

This seems like it would be a nerf to some chambering, especially when trying to send out a ball-straight before the charge on another structure finishes

I assume other structures spawning in slower as well means they're unlikely to be useful as an alternative...? So, I assume that would mostly leave normal discs as a filler.

It would also buff some chambering you could interact with the ball with hold as soon as it spawned but not straight it

That's why I thought ball hold straight was better
