a complaint ive seen a few times that never seems to get addressed is clarity..

this game is very visually dependant, you can easily play with music.. being able to visually understand what your opponent is doing is a large portion of the progression of someone's skill, but this has been taken to extremes, with complex combos that get wild results... the movements are too fast for most new players to follow, and even experienced players can likely be fooled with what combo was used to get a result (especially if the result is similar to a different combo)

the community has pushed "tech" to an unreasonable level, making this game VERY difficult for a newer players, or those who dont have a ton of time to invest.

youre in the kiddie pool until mountain, then youre in the marina trench of how much "depth" (jank) the game has(...)

Dear X4EX6TD3GVMM, as I am sure you have heard before rumble is a very complicated game. By now the gameplay has evolved to a point that takes a lot of time and effort to master but is also what gives RUMBLE its uniquely high skill ceiling and makes it very rewarding for those who are willing to commit themselves. Of course this is not for everyone. The issue of how high the skill ceiling of a game should be is actually fairly wide spread in the gaming community (GMTK has a very recommendable video about this) . With a lot of superhero games for example, say marvels spiderman, the phylosophy is that everyone who paid their 60 dollars should get to enjoy themselves, however RUMBLE is not one of theses games. This makes rumble very fun for those who managed to learn it and can make it very frustrating if you are struggling to do so.

Luckily however, the video game industry is big. While there are many learning resources for Rumble by now it is far from a quick endeavor to master this game which is why it very well might not be for you.

That is fine, not everyone has to play or enjoy everything, blaming your own lack of dedication or willingness to learn, maybe even your living conditions if those are hindering for you, on the game however is a testament to lacynes and impatience at best and arrogance at worst.

The defs are allready planning a tutorial update, but at the end of the day you are and will forever be the one who has to learn.

This is why, with all due respect, you should honestly ask yourself if you are willing to learn rumble, with all the hooks attached, or stay with other games that might offer a enjoyable experience without requiring you to do much.

Regards, Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut stay content with your low as hell player counts, im just NEVER GOING TO BUY ANY BUCKETHEAD PRODUCT.

the game has been designed around the tryhards, but NOTHING tells that to new players. nothing warns them of that prior to buying the game

since i dont enjoy the game, i should be able to refund and just say "this one aint for me"... but i cant, because rumble is a game where the 2 hours refund limit for steam.. DOESNT EVEN GET YOU THROUGH THE TUTORIAL.

so thats money im never getting back, on a game that USED to be good. until the devs decided that their "core" players should be the ones who decide what makes the game good, not the THOUSANDS of people who no longer play the game because they were effectively lied to about the learning curve

had a buddy in discord ask "does anyone play rumble, i was thinking about getting back into it".... i warning him the elitist mentality of the community and sheer negligence of the dev team... his response made me laugh, "everyone still acts like that? damn"

he was interested in getting back into the game. im going to assume it was the MANDITORY INVESTMENT the game REQUIRES to be too much to invest. or the community was the reason he left to begin with

your mentality of "this is for the sweats, and only the fucking sweats".. is preventing A LOT of people from enjoying a really fun game..

i hope it worth it for buckethead, i just know a lot of people who have a bad taste in their mouth from rumble, and i know i wont be buying any other buckethead product after seeing how shit rumble got

TL8VABCZXJUV: As Sauerkraut mentioned, this is indeed not a game for everyone. Our target audience is the hardcore VR gamers. If you're not one of them, then RUMBLE might not be a game for you.

Thanks for your original feedback point though. We're already working on improving the tutorial so learning moves will be way easier than the way it's now. Asura, our new system, will help tremendously with this.

Regarding the visual feedback during matches, I'm not sure if a lot will change from now on. But you know... it's Early Access. So, a lot can still happen.

Sorry if the game doesn't meet your expectations. I hope in the future you'll enjoy this new system which could help you tremendously, and that you may enjoy RUMBLE just as much as we do!

Maarten Braaksma (Project Lead)i played past the 2 hour refund time very early in the game's lifetime. since then, the game has been turned into something i no longer enjoy. therefore i am no longer able to refund the game since its "not for me" (even though i thoroughly enjoyed the game prior to the changes made)

are there plans for a single player adventure so players like myself will be able to enjoy the game without having to interact with the aspects of the game we dont like? i was already playing without shiftstones since the entire community said "if you dont like them, just dont use them"

edit, i also would like to point out that youre pushing people away from your game, over visual clarity. something that most people would just see as a QoL change that benefits everyone.

TL8VABCZXJUV Yup! We are thinking of implementing a PvE environment to give more single player content as well.

It's not a definitive thing yet though, but more single player content is definitely not a bad idea at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Howard will receive an iteration as well in the future.

Maarten Braaksma (Project Lead) so what are we looking at roughly, 2029? maybe 2030? improves dont exactly come at a consistent or quick rate

i'd love to just get my 20$ back and be done with it all, but since i have money invested. id like to get my value out of it.

the negative reviews on steam mostly echo the same issues with the game, even calling it GREAT and AMAZING... yet they dont stick around because the heavy investment REQUIRED TO ENJOY.... is just wayyy to much to ask

TL8VABCZXJUV: For PvE mode we don't have an estimation for it yet, because we're next to that unsure if we'll implement that kind of mode in the game.

We also don't have an ETA for v1.0 yet. Keep an eye on our socials for updates!

Maarten Braaksma (Project Lead) so my options for enjoying the game i USED TO ENJOY, are to

  1. dont play it. which is your advice

  2. wait an unknown amount of time, which is likely to be NEVER

you also completely ignored 2 points made.

are you going to update your steam page to be much more accurate to the description of the game? maybe with warnings that its not for everyone

are you going to lengthen the refund time or shorten the progression to blackbelt so players are able to get a taste of the real game before theyre past the refund limit?

if you want to keep the game limited to your "hardcore VR gamers!"... then keep it to them. dont have 2750 positive reviews of people who havent even gotten to blackbelt yet

i saw a review of someone getting the game, playing 0.7hrs, and refunding it. but giving it a positive review... yet all the negative reviews revolve around the same issues that no one wants to address

YOU HAVE MORE NEGATIVE REVIEWS THAN YOU HAVE PLAYERS. and you want to stick to your mentality?
