To create a more inclusive and globally aware community, it's important for the server to allocate dedicated channels for other major continental tournaments like the CAF Champions League, AFC Champions League, CONCACAF Champions Cup, and Copa Libertadores. Right now, the focus is heavily skewed towards UEFA competitions, which unintentionally sidelines the rich football culture and talent found across Africa, Asia, the Americas, and beyond. By giving these tournaments proper visibility, the server can encourage more diverse discussions, attract a broader range of football fans, and highlight exciting stories, players, and matches that deserve just as much attention. This move would help balance the spotlight and reflect football as the truly global sport it is.

Methods to Promote Global Football Tournaments in the server: -

  1. Create Dedicated Channels for Each Confederation
Set up separate text and/or voice channels for CAF, AFC, CONCACAF, and CONMEBOL competitions like Copa Libertadores. This gives fans a clear space to engage with their preferred regions.

  2. Pin Tournament Schedules & Match Threads
Just like for UEFA competitions, regularly post and pin schedules, fixtures, and live match threads for key games in other tournaments. This helps generate real-time engagement.

  3. Weekly Roundups or Highlight Posts
Assign a mod or community member to post weekly updates or highlights from each confederation—important results, standout players, and key storylines.

  4. Assign Regional Roles
Let users choose regional roles (e.g., “CAF Watcher,” “AFC Fan”) to opt into pings for updates, discussions, and match alerts from specific tournaments they care about.

  5. Celebrate Underrated Moments & Players
Post spotlights on legendary players, iconic matches, or rising stars from non-UEFA competitions to give them the recognition they deserve.

# humble mirage I get where you’re coming from, and I do stand by what I said—100%. But I don’t ...

Fair enough
In recent weeks we've been opening more channels to expand our global reach, I admit that they are mostly European ones as I can't deny the fact that there's a majority of European football fans here, with that said, we also added #liga-mx and #j-league
We usually do have a channel for ACON and Asian Cup.
Copa Libertadores has #south-american-football as a channel for discussion. It's not very active. Regarding CONCACAF - Gold Cup gets a channel when it happens, there's #us-soccer and it's not very active either. I'm in favor for focus for other competitors outside of European football, but it also goes along with having an audience for it and vice versa (the egg and the chicken cass?)

If you have a good idea how we can be more appealing to such users / how we can attract them, I'm all ears

Totally fair—thanks for the transparency. I do see the efforts, and I get that it's hard to justify full activity for some regions when the audience isn’t quite there yet. The egg-and-chicken problem is real.

Maybe the key is low-maintenance visibility first, just enough to invite interest without overcommitting. A few small ideas that might help:

  • Pin major fixtures or storylines from CAF/CONCACAF/etc. in existing channels just like you do for UEFA games. Could be once a week, just to plant the seed.

  • Regional roles people can opt into for pings, so they’re not overwhelmed but still connected to updates they care about.

  • Partnerships "if possible" with popular non-european leagues servers to bring fans that could help activate the channels you've mentioned

Just throwing ideas around—happy to help with any of this casually, even if I’m not applying for anything.

fine, how about roles tied to specific competitions instead of regions? like AFCON updates etc
