that's often the case for some leagues, out of two clubs one is good in the league and the other in uel
anderlecht/standard for example
I thought Banik was fighting relegatio
n
not anymore
They're 13th rn
yep but the season has just started
imo they'll finish 6th or 7th
Sigma is looking good again, may repeat their 17/18 achievement
maybe
we have Czech League partly covered on Polsat Sport so I sometimes watch a game, mostly just highlights though
Idk much about the league, but it looks like Slavia and Plzen on top, Sparta a bit behind and a club like Sigma or Jablonec last year pushing behind
I rarely watch football ac lol
I mostly rely on stats and highlights
Jablonec not only last year, they've established themselves as a decent uel side already
uel qualifiers ofc because they rarely qualify

Lol
Uel qualifiers is such a mess lol
Czech league seems quite separated
Slavia and Plzen
Sparta
Jablonec, Ostrava, Slovan and Sigma
And then others
Sparta behind is weird since their squad is just so much better than Plzen's
Idk many clubs apart from those
but ig they focus on qualifiers
Yeah in terms of quality it looks better
they play better football too
just always have that giant losing streak in the middle of the season
it happened like thrice in a row now
maybe this year will be their year
Interesting
oh ye I was confused
because they have 2 Ladislavs Krejcis in the squad rn
they also have Hlozek but he's still developing
meamwhile Krejci is ready for bigger clubs imo
Idk much about him
he was randomly found in Brno in the 2nd league and became Sparta's best defender and a starter
Hlozek was Sparta's best player for the Lille match according to tm
I heard about Brno
Weren't they in first div at the beginning of the 2010s ?
they were
I remember in 16/17 when Slavia won their first title
Ruslan Mingazov was there
he remains the only Turkmeni player to win an European top flight title
nice
Do you follow any non-european-league?
But, do you think it's the best non-european-league?
I will put it behind the Liga MX and the Brazilian League
lol
I'm from Argentina, and we haven't got any football since March
It's scheduled to come back in November, but we don't know yet
Here in Argentina we have a say about Pavón
"Pavon has devaluated more than the Argentinian Peso"
Costa Nhamoinesu played for Sparta for a fair bit
@dire comet
He joined Kerala now
Kerala with a rock solid defence next year
Koné - Nhamoinesu
Talking of CBs
Bastos at Al-Ain
Sad he didn't succeed at Lazio
Well, I may not be a “lover” but I do love your posts on them
First match of the day was between struggling Piast Gliwice and an average Wisła Płock side. Piast are still desperately looking for their first league win meanwhile Wisła, currently sitting mid table just like they expected to, didn't treat this game very seriously. The first half was kind of boring, but the second one started with a bang as left winger Tiago Alves scored for Piast 3 minutes after it started thanks to Radosław Sobolewski's team defending terribly and a Jakub Rzeźniczak (still love u Kuba ❤️) mistake. Piast then shifted to a defensive formation and it actually made Wisła struggle to break through it, but they found a solution eventually - corners. After winning mentioned set piece from the right side of the pitch a Mateusz Szwoch cross from the corner landed straight on the Irishman Cillian Sheridan's head, who passed it forth to Jakub Rzeźniczak, who then compensated for his fatal mistake from the 48th minute with a powerful and stylish header. Six minutes later Szwoch got a direct corner assist this time, landing a cross perfectly on CB Alan Uryga's head who made it 2-1 with a powerful low headed shot. Piast always had trouble with set pieces, so it wasn't too unexpected. And just as the game was about to end, in the 5th minute of injury time Dusan Lagator fouled Patryk Lipski just in the corner of the penalty box, and a spot kick was awarded to Piast. Michał Żyro, former Wolverhampton winger whose career was sadly ruined by injuries, stepped up to take it and sent the keeper the wrong way slotting it home. The match ended 2-2, getting Waldemar Fornalik's side their 2nd point in the league which is still a terrible result and his future still remains unclear, and Wisła not really having much to say about this result - coach Sobolewski is doing a solid job and unless they get relegated later on which seems unlikely at the moment he will keep the hot seat. (1/4)
The second match of the day was higher caliber - Zagłębie Lubin, who despite losing their midweek postponed game against Legia in Warsaw, have started the season well and are looking for an upper table finish, and maybe even a surprise top 3, which they are definitely able to achieve, hosted a disappointing Lechia Gdańsk side. Piotr Stokowiec's job is looking more and more endangered and to save it he has to make the Pomorskie's capital team perform well quickly. Unfortunately for him, in the 3rd minute already Filip Starzyński sent a perfect corner cross to Zagłębie's 37 y/o Slovakian captain Ljubomir Gul'dan, who left the keeper helpless with a powerful header. Lechia was playing very "meh" I guess you could say, but due to Zagłębie shifting too much into a defensive formation they started dominating and leveled it in the 72nd minute when Ekstraklasa legend Flavio Paixao, who's just one year younger than Gul'dan yet still keeping his place as one of ESA's top strikers, equalized from a penalty kick. The game ended 1-1 and the result wasn't very useful for any of the sides, but well, they have to deal with it. Martin Sevela's Zagłębie is still standing second, although they have one (or even two in some cases) more matches played than other teams, meanwhile Lechia is still midtable. (2/4)
Now, as usual, a brief look at the Fortuna I Liga fixtures. This Friday only one match in the 2nd division of Poland was played, and it was GKS Tychy vs GKS Jastrzębie (local Śląskie derby), with the hosts being favourites, as while sitting in the playoff zone they were facing a team 2nd from the bottom. No big surprise here, Tychy won 3-1 with no notable events going on. The position of both teams remains unchanged. (3/4)
Current standings. (4/4)
S r d j a n
@dire comet Szymanski scored
I'm worried abt today
we may bottle it vs Pogoń
we desperately need that win because then if we beat Warta midweek we'd jump to 1st place
We dominated in the first half
They were pushing until like the 80th minute
Then we continued to press
Midtjylland losing
Antalyaspor just fell apart
Sunderland always look bad
yeah, sad
I don't have swiss league on TV sadly 😔
but Ospelt is playing in goal for some reason instead of Büchel
Oh yeah forgot to start my Liga 1 thingy, well guess I'll do it now
yes pls
So uh welcome to Maul's Liga 1 of the day, volume 1: 23 October 2020
First up we have Gaz Metan Mediaş vs Botoşani. Two teams which were in the play-offs, Botoşani even qualified for EL and almost got to play vs Spurs but lost vs some guys from North Macedonia, speaking of that match, Botoşani's form has been only downhill since. Losing even vs Clinceni. They have got back Ongenda though, their star player before he was sold to Chievo. Gaz Metan on the other hand are bad since Eddy Iordanescu left during lockdown. They seemed to give 0 fucks about the play-offs since they had no license to play in Europe. And the start to the season has been shaky. Leading to Dusan Uhrin's departure and Jorge Costa coming in. Now, the match, it ended in a 2-1 win for Botoşani, an unfortunate own goal from CFR Cluj loanee Mihai Butean gave Botoşani the lead. They then had the chance to double their lead, when Baco (Gaz Metan CB) was sent off and they had a penalty. Ongenda took it but Buzbuchi saved it. Gaz Metan then equalised via a rocket from Ronaldo Deaconu. With time running out, Keyta won the game for Botoşani in the 87th minute by nutmegging Buzbuchi.

Now back to it
The other game of the day was Craiova vs Clinceni. Craiova won all 7 games coming into this, meanwhile Clinceni had only 7 points all season. Craiova couldn't play Bosnian international Elvir Koljic due to an injury and they lost Valentin Mihaila to Parma. Clinceni have bought Raul Rusescu, one of the best Romanian strikers in those years, especially in his prime, having even played at Sevilla briefly. In the first minute of the game, Morar missed a very easy chance for Clinceni, honestly, I thought it would cost them dearly but it didn't. In the 57th minute, Rusescu showed his class and created Bautista Cascini's goal. The league leaders finally lost. Would this mean the start of their decline? Who knows? See ya next time (which will be pretty soon, like 2 hours since I have to cover today too).
Ronaldo Deaconu, he got me to UEL in my Gorica save in FM19
That's a nice career by the sounds of it
I will also show the league table when I cover today's matches btw
Did Pekhart actually misses that shot or it was deflected?
Okay it's deflected
So a corner
Pekhart misses a whole fucking ton of shots
0-0 ffs
Stipica was unbelievable
aight guys Ekstraklasa of the Day vol.5 24.10.05
First game of the day was Wisła Kraków-Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała. Wisła, after their unbelievable 6-0 win at Mielec, was now facing another, albeit slightly stronger Ekstraklasa newcomer. Artur Skowronek's team was surely the favourite, and they were leading 1-0 before even 40 minutes passed, after Brazilian midfielder Jean Carlos's powerful top bin shot from a penalty. After the second half restarted, Podbeskidzie started defending more sensibly, and it paid off until in the 66th minute Chuca unleashed a powerful volley shot from just outside the box, which unfortunately for him was going straight into the goalkeeper Rafał Leszczyński's arms. But he hasn't been able to hold the ball properly, it slipped out of his hands and landed in the goal. After that individual mistake Podbeskidzie looked demotivated, and their situation became even worse when in the 72th minute their Polish-Serbian centre back Aleksandar Komor got sent off from fouling Felicio Brown Forbes, who was going clear onto a 1v1. Wisła scored their third and final goal in the ninetieth minute when Borussia Dortmund legend Kuba Błaszczykowski cut inside from the right wing and released a curved shot so precise that it was out of Leszczyński's reach. After this expected and comfortable win Wisła are drifting up the table, meanwhile Podbeskidzie will be probably fighting relegation along with Piast, Stal and Warta for a while. (1/4)
Second game was Śląsk Wrocław hosting Jagiellonia at their city ground. What was expected to be a tight game between two top teams playing open football actually wasn't that good of a match, but Śląsk managed to clench the 3 points after Jagiellonia's defence behaved like complete amateurs and gifted the ball to 20 year old Legia academy graduate Mateusz Praszelik signed by Vitezslav Lavicka's team on a free this summer, who beat Damian Węglarz in an one-on-one situation with a powerful shot down the middle of the goal. Both teams had their chances, but Węglarz for Jagiellonia and Matus Putnocky for Śląsk both performed decently and we saw no more goals. That result allowed Śląsk to jump into the fourth place. (2/4)
Final Ekstraklasa game which started on 8PM CET was Pogoń Szczecin hosting Legia. Legia was on a 2 game win streak (both against top teams to be fair), but Pogoń always was a tough opponent for us, as the last time we beat them in Szczecin was 2017 and since then the direct games between the two teams ended in a draw twice, in a Legia win twice and in a Pogoń triumph four times. Legia started dominating since the first minutes, with a good occasion coming in the 22nd, but Dante Stipica managed to save Igor Lewczuk's header. Pogoń had some missed opportunities too, but not as serious ones. In the 61st minute Tomas Pekhart had a perfect situation to finally score that goal after a great counterattack by the capital city's team, but this time too it was spectacularly saved by Dante Stipica who proved to be the league's best goalkeeper once again (he won the MOTM award later on today). No more great chances came through and Legia came out of the clash with only one point, although against a strong opponent. Legia is still 5th after that. (3/4)
Current standings. (4/4)
Shamrock Rovers are champions of the Airtricity League in Ireland after Bohemians lost at home to Finn Harps. With their win, it ensures that Cork City, who won the league a couple of years ago, will be relegated. Bohemians will play in Europe in the new Europa Conference League
Time for Maul's Liga 1 of the day Vol 2: 24 October 2020
The first game of the day was UTA Arad vs Chindia Târgovişte. UTA Arad was coming off 3 games without losing, same as Chindia. UTA Arad, the more stable of the 2 newly-promoted teams had a pretty good start this season, Chindia, who were lucky to not get relegated last year, got off to a really good start to life under Emil Săndoi. This game was pretty balanced, only goal of the game came in the 52nd minute with Denis Rusu's nice strike from inside the box. This win put UTA in the play-off spots meanwhile Chindia dropped to 7th.
nice
The second game of the day was a struggling Astra Giurgiu vs an always struggling Poli Iaşi. Astra Giurgiu won only 1 point this season prior to this match. Surprisingly weak for a team which finished in top 5 last season. Meanwhile Iaşi briefly had a false dawn with wins vs UTA and Steaua and a good game vs Craiova. They last lost 4-1 vs Sepsi at home. Their last game vs Astra was a 4-0 loss. And guess what? This game also ended 4-0 for Astra. I must say the scoreline isn't fair though, Iaşi had plenty of chances but didn't know how to finish. In the 30th minute, Francisc Cristea was controversially sent off for a foul on Valentin Gheorghe. The same Gheorghe, in the 52nd minute, would get his second yellow card after hitting an opponent in the face. Astra were the first to score 10 mins later via a Găman header from a Budescu corner. In the 84th minute, Budescu slotted home a controversially-given penalty kick, to be fair it is easy when the keeper literally falls on his knees when you start your run up. 5 minutes later, Risto Radunovic danced through the Iaşi defence and assisted Wuthrich to make it 3-0. In stoppage time, Risto Radunovic got his well deserved goal, from a certain point of view, slotting home a penalty in the 92nd minute. This may be caretaker Alexandru Radu's last game in charge, with Eddy Iordanescu rumoured to be filling the managerial vacancy left in Giurgiu.
Last game, Sepsi vs Nuevo Dinamo. The Szekely-based team is having a great start to the season after winning 12 points in the first 7 matches. Dinamo, on the other hand, got bought by a spaniard and half of the team is now spanish. They are not having such a nice start to the season, winning only 5 points from the first 7 games. This game turned out to be an easy win for Sepsi, a 29th minute 25 metres banger by Achahbar put them in front, and Istvan Fulop wrapped up the game by the 77th minute. This result put Sepsi on the 3rd place in the table until at least tomorrow, meanwhile Cosmin Contra's managerial position at Dinamo seems to be more under threat as time passes.

maybe it's a beginning of a new era...?

there was a recent normalization of relations between Israel, UAE and Bahrain, Sudan near one as well
so this is the first wave of cashgrabs i guess
i mean sure, why not 🤷🏼♂️

And not interested slightest to take over for old papa Jacob
Too bad though, they have lots of money 🤪
nah, they have to fix beitar first ;]
cant wait to see the fan excuses when a UAE muslim player starts for beitar
all for a totally unrelated donation of a few mil euros
and then just maybe finally beitar mongs will give the whole arab thing a damn rest XD
(context for others: Beitar Jerusalem ultras and other hardcore fans are known to have.. some less than welcoming ideology for arabs)
I saw the video
by Tifo or BR or something idk
when Beitar bought some arab origin Swede and they threatened to kill him n shit
nah, they have to fix beitar first ;]
@gusty finch
I really can't see any reason why they would invest in that club
Beitar, of all clubs. In all its history it had, 2 Muslim players play there?
im guessing its a mission statement of sorts
Cmon guys score
Rangers FC have proposed a friendly match against Bengaluru FC in the summer of 2021 with their first team on behalf of their partnership signed in 2020.
@gusty finch
I really can't see any reason why they would invest in that club
@vale flame
Maybe they are trying to normalize their relationship with the Arabs
Time for
Maul's Liga 1 of the day vol 3: 25 October 2020
First match of the day was Viitorul vs Argeş. Both teams were coming off victories vs Voluntari and Astra respectively. The match was fairly dominated by Hagi's Boys but Argeş were the ones who scored first after Damien Dussaut fouled former Wolves man Sylvain Deslandes inside the box and Cephas Malele converted the spot kick in the 31st minute. In the 57th minute the same Malele scored a beauty of a goal from outside of the box, 4 minutes later Jon Gaztanaga also scored a beautiful outside of the box goal to make it 2-1. In the dying moments of the game Gabriel Matei got sent off after a foul inside the box and Andrei Ciobanu won a point for Viitorul after scoring the penalty kick. After this match Viitorul moved up to 10th place and Arges remained second-last.
Second match involved Voluntari and defending champions CFR Cluj. Voluntari were coming off a loss vs Viitorul and CFR just won vs CSKA Sofia in the first matchday of the UEL group stages. After a very boring first half CFR started to dominate the game and scored in the 72nd minute of the game after a mistake by Voluntari keeper Victor Râmniceanu which allowed Cătălin Itu to put it in the back of the net. This win was Dan Petrescu's first win vs Mihai Teja. This win moved CFR Cluj up to 2nd spot until at least Steaua's game vs Hermannstadt, 3 points behind league leaders Craiova. Voluntari dropped to the 11th spot on the table after this loss and Viitorul's draw vs Argeş.
League table
They are getting a new manager and they just won 4-0 vs Iasi
A relegation szn may come at Dinamo tho 👀

I'd do it quicker if my tempo of doing german exercises was quicker
Aight time for Ekstraklasa of the day vol. 6 and 7
Sunday's first game was league leaders Raków Częstochowa taking on Stal Mielec home. Of course the home side were the favourites, especially since Stal was still recovering from that 6-0 home loss to Wisła. Raków's biggest signing this window, former Levante starter Ivi Lopez scored his 3rd goal this season in the 27th minute, calmly finishing an one-on-one situation versus goalkeeper Rafał Strączek after Igor Poletanović's good through ball. Midway through the second half Ivi scored his second goal of the match, and Stal's defence was definitely at fault with this one. The newly promoted team managed to get one back in the 77th minute from Rafał Domański, but it wasn't enough to stop the leaders and Dariusz Skrzypczak's Stal are still dangerously drifting just above relegation, while Raków is starting to feel comfortable in the 1st position. (1/5)
Second game on Sunday was bigger - Lech Poznań, freshly after returning from Thursday's even UEL clash against Benfica welcomed guests from Kraków, Michał Probierz's Cracovia. Despite the -5 at the start of the season Pasy (Cracovia's nickname, translates to "stripes") are playing fairly well, with an upper half finish not looking out of reach - although they fell out of the loop recently. This was a great occasion for them to bounce back, as Lech played mostly a reserve because the key players (Tiba, Ishak, Puchacz) were rested after Thursday. In the 30th minute Milan Dimun assisted Pelle Van Amersfoort who scored the first goal of the match. Lech was visibly still tired and it wasn't until the 86th minute when Israeli supersub Mohamad Awad bought from Maccabi Haifa this summer equalized. Finally the match ended with both teams splitting points between them, with Lech drifting weirdly low for their standards. (2/5)
Moving onto Monday who greeted us with only one ESA game. This time Marcin Brosz's phenomenal Górnik team played Warta Poznań away at Dyskobolia Stadium in Grodzisk Wielkopolski (Warta's stadium is too small for league standards). Górnik, sitting third, wanted this game to be easy three points, since many of Warta's players are still on quarantine. It wasn't as easy as they expected, with the only goal coming in '66 from a very questionable handball penalty converted by Jesus Jimenez, who is now Górnik's main man after Angulo moved to India. Lots of controversy happened after the referee decided to give the penalty, but the 1-0 result was the final one and it's now unchangeable. Górnik bounce back to 2nd place having only 3 points less than the leaders Raków, with Zagłębie Lubin just behind them. Quite surprising top 3, isn't it? (3/5)
Aaand back to Sunday. Fortuna I Liga has given us barely one match which was Górnik Łęczna vs Miedź Legnica. Both teams fighting for playoffs were separated by 3 points prior to the fixture. The game was low scoring just like nearly every Polish 2nd division match, but just as we thought it was about to finish 0-0 Paweł Baranowski scored a header from a corner cross in 90+4 to make it 1-0 for the hosts. That result means Łęczna jump to 3rd place losing only 1 point to Odra Opole in the automatic promotion zone and Miedź are still to get into the top 6. (4/5)
Table. Midweek Polish Cup fixtures incoming for all the teams, let's see how it turns out. (5/5)
Damn Piast doing bad
Maul's Liga 1 of the Day Vol 4: 26th October 2020
The only game of the day involved an in-form Steaua against an in-form Hermannstadt, Steaua coming off a 2-0 win vs Clinceni and Hermannstadt having won a point vs UTA Arad in a 1-1 draw. The game had only one team playing, and that was Steaua. They opened the scoring in the third minute after Iulian Cristea scored a potential goal of the season contender volley inside of the box. 7 minutes later, Dennis Man scored after an error by Ousmane Viera, continuing his great run of form. In the 32nd minute, Ousmane Viera made an error again and Sergiu Buş finally scored his first goal in the Red and Blue kit. 1 minute later, Dennis Man danced his way through Hermannstadt's defence and assisted Olimpiu Moruțan to make it 4-0 before half-time. The second half was arguably boring, nonetheless, Florin Tănase scored off a rebound in the 72nd minute and that was the last goal of the game. This win put Steaua on the 2nd place on the table, meanwhile Hermannstadt dropped to 11th.

@twin patrol I am a Cardiff supporter

Korona's president stepped down
good news for them
man's been ruining the club with terrible financial management and transfers
Korona?
Korona Kielce
polish club
used to be midtable Ekstraklasa until 2017 but then this idiot came in, sold the actions to some shady businessmen, sold all good players, kept on signing random 6th tier (literally) players for first team on free transfers for 3 seasons straight, got relegated and nearly made the club go bankrupt
fortunately now the city of Kielce has regained it
basically the only good thing he did was make Suzuki the sponsor so they actually had some money
Torpedo so good we named them twice. In place of them we really don't know who to take. Who would you take? https://t.co/4r8EVB1gph
What about you?
Which 16 teams do you want in RPL?
Zenit, Spartak, CSKA, Dynamo, Lokomotiv, Krasnodar, Rostov, Rubin, Torpedo, Krylia Sovetov, Baltika, Nizhny Novgorod, Khabarovsk, Yenisey, Ural, Ufa
For me
Honourable mentions to Akhmat, Orenburg, Luch Vladivostok, Tom Tomsk, Alania Vladikavkaz, Anzhi
Mordovia Saransk, Anzhi Makhachkala, Alania Vladikavkaz, Fakel Voronezh, Shynnik Yaroslav, Yenisey Krasnoyarsk, Chayka Peshchanokopskoye, Nizhny Novgorod, Rotor Volgograd, Sibir Novosibirsk, Tom Tomsk, Kuban Krasnodar, Satourn Ramenskoye, Spartak Nalchik and Ural Ekaterinburg 😤
perfect RPL
Sibir Novosibirsk and Mordovia Saransk doesn't exist now
I know
Yugoslavian League would’ve been so good
so guys yeah
Oskar Zawada is so washed up
he was once a Wolfsburg talent, then went on some loans to Poland and flopped, flopped at Arka and got relegated, Raków gave him a chance, and he just shot a penalty over the bar
Yugoslavian League would’ve been so good
@balmy torrent GNK Dinamo, Hajudk Split, Maribor, Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, FK Sarajevo, HNK Rijeka

@lapis wedge @empty needle I think is a fan 🙂
Saarbrucken and 1860 Munich lost
I really wanna knows why is gent so baf
@lapis wedge Gent isn't doing well so far, they lost their 2 important players in this window, they fire their coach as well
Makes sense
@lapis wedge Gent isn't doing well so far, they lost their 2 important players in this window, they fire their coach as well
@empty needle
A lot is going wrong at Gent. They still haven't found a coach yet to replace Laszlo Bölöni. They still have a terrible backline, they seem incapable of putting the ball in the back of the net
Wim de Decker has started to bench Elisha Owusu for some unknown reason. He was superb last season for them
All in all they are a shadow of the wonderful team from last season
Hm
Getting rid of Jess Thorup was the biggest mistake they made
Sure, defensively they were still a mess, but at least this man had a plan
Standard is the weirdest team i’ve seen
They were such a disappointment on Thursday
Shame on them for their tactics against Benfica
Once they almost beat arsenal and after that they get beaten 0-2 by fucking Sint-truiden
At least against Rangers they sent out and tried
Shame on them for their tactics against Benfica
@frosty hollow wdym
I expected them to go toe to toe with them
To take risks against benfica ?
Not sit around and act scared against Benfica
It's Benfica for heaven's sake. They never win UEFA competitions 😂
Sure, but you guys are regulars in the competition, a top club in Belgium
So start acting like it
Standard is the weirdest team i’ve seen
We’re just not on the same level
@clever totem
Antwerp aren't at the same level as Spurs, yet they actually went out and got the result
They should've scored multiple times
Spurs are trash that’s not an example
Spurs are (according to the bookies) favourites to win the EL
Benfica are trash too
They couldn't even make the Champions League
Neither do we
Plus, we didn’t play bad against benfica
You mean against Rangers
...i’m not joking
At least against Rangers they were unlucky
Roofe's goal was incredibly lucky
Čop miscontrolled the ball on that wet surface, and then Roofe got a shot away, with Bodart off his line
Once you guys stop giving away penalties, you might stand a chance as well
If it wasn’t for those weird-ass penalties, we could’ve grabbed a point at lisbon
They still would've broken you guys down anyways
Didn’t look like it
Yeah, when the morale was lowest
What I'm saying is, for a club with such a name, the standard (pun intended) should be much higher than what it was on Thursday
Standard is the weirdest team i’ve seen
@clever totem
I think this sums it up the best
You guys better get 6 points against Lech Poznan
Same for Gent against Crvena Zvezda, and honestly, I don't see either happening
Especially with Gent
no Lech stronk
They need to get their shit together
I can totally see Lech winning the one at Bułgarska and drawing at Liege
No, I think Standard will win in Liège. They are a strong home team
They're shit away, so you might be right about Lech getting a result at home
Stokowiec doesn't care about the league at all, he puts all eggs in one basket which is UEL
Well, Lech are flying the Polish flag, and the country needs points to finish 28th
we do
it's become so bad that from next season on places 2, 3 and the cup winner will compete in Conference and only the winner will be in UCL
I know
But 28th is important for you guys
All of your teams will start in Q2 of the ECL
29th will see the lowest ranked team play in Q1
30th or lower theoretically would see all three teams start in Q1, though I think for next season 30th will be good enough for the CW to get a bye
Sorry, that's for 2022/23
I will do a Liga 1 of the Days I guess
Just gotta wait til Hermannstadt vs Craiova finishes
The time has come
Right, off we go then lol
Maul's Liga 1 of the Day(s) Vol 5: 30 and 31 October 2020
First up, we have the only match of yesterday, Argeş vs Voluntari, Argeş coming off a 2-2 draw vs Viitorul and Voluntari coming off a 0-1 loss vs CFR. Argeş dominated the game from the start, failing to capitalise on Râmniceanu's mistake. They did score in the 33rd minute though, Meza Colli heading the ball in after a good cross from Andrei Prepeliţă. In the 55th minute, Arges did capitalise on an error, this time from Ionuț Balaur, with Robert Grecu scoring. There is some controversy about a supposed offside in the build-up. Voluntari did get a penalty later on after a handball by Luka Maric. Ion Gheorghe converted the penalty in the 66th min, giving Voluntari a glimmer of hope, Voluntari tried to push for an equaliser, but failed. Ionuț Balaur getting sent off in the process after punching Alin Popa in the face in the last minutes of the game. After this match, Argeş climbed up to the 13th spot on the table, meanwhile Voluntari stayed on the 10th spot.
Now, the first match of today, Clinceni vs Sepsi, Clinceni having won surprisingly vs Craiova and Sepsi having won comfortably vs Dinamo. This match was dominated by Clinceni, Tsvetelin Chunchukov scored the first goal of the game, his first ever for Clinceni, after a defensive error from Sepsi. Clinceni continued to dominate and won a penalty after Gabriel Vaşvari fouled Chunchukov inside the box, Raul Rusescu failed to convert the penalty though, after a nice save by Roland Niczuly in the 41th minute. Rusescu did score though 2 minutes later, after a big defensive error by Panagiotis Deligiannidis. Clinceni still didn't step back, Chunchukov almost scoring a bicycle kick. The game ended 2-0 nonetheless. This win put Clinceni on the 6th spot on the table. Sepsi stayed on the 4th spot.
Why yall writting essays lmao
Second match of the day involved FC Botoşani and UTA Arad, Botoşani coming off a 2-1 win vs Gaz Metan and UTA coming off a 1-0 win vs Chindia. UTA scored early on in the 4th minute of the game, Vlad Morar scoring his 1st of the season. Then, Neluţ Roşu fouled Hervin Ongenda in the box giving away a penalty which was converted by Hamidou Keyta in the 28th minute. 5 minutes later, Botoşani won another penalty, after Mihai Roman was fouled by Florin Iacob, the UTA GK. Eduard Florescu converted the spotkick. UTA equalised early on in the second half from an arguably offside position, Erico heading home a cross by Vlad Morar. Botoşani boss Marius Croitoru was sent in the stands afterwards for aggresive behaviour towards the ref. UTA did win the game after Vlad Morar scored a beauty of a FK in the 71st minute. This win put UTA on the 5th spot on the table and Botoşani fell down to 7th.
Last game of the day, Hermannstadt vs Craiova. Both teams were coming off defeats against Steaua and Clinceni, respectively. Craiova needing a win to keep their 3 pts lead at the top of the table. They did score in the 33rd minute, Nicuşor Bancu calmly putting it into the net. 3 minutes later, Hermannstadt won a penalty after Paul Papp arguably fouled Fabio Fortes. A pen which was missed by David Mayoral. A match dominated by Craiova nonetheless the missed penalty for Hermannstadt. You could say they were lucky not to lose by more. This win extended Craiova's lead to 6 pts until at least tomorrow and Hermannstadt stayed on the 11th spot on the table.
League table
I could say 2-2 on Legia-Lech game
it has to be a win for us
Lech isn't impressing plus they're focusing on UEL
Kamiński should be out
idk about Tiba
@modern orchid i would say what i said last time but we know what will end up happening
Tevez is regaining his level
@modern orchid i would say what i said last time but we know what will end up happening
@balmy torrent 😉 😉
Most of the Rumanian NT players come from their league, right?
I don't think so
unless you mean that they were born and raised in Romania and started their careers in Romanian clubs then yeah most did
but the squad that lost 2-1 to Iceland in Euro qualifiers was: Serie A, then 4 defenders from Romanian league (but theres Radu and Chiriches who usually play, they just were unavailable), Turkish league, Slovenian league, Czech league, then Romanian league, Turkish league, Saudi league, two from Romanian league, Bulgarian league, Scottish league, Polish league, 2x Romanian league, Bulgarian league, Italian league, Czech league, 2nd tier of England, Turkish league
9/23 were from Romanian league and normally it's 7
Yes
That's why I call him an italian
Most romanians do
Piturca didn't play him once and he got pissed
It's ur NT u just don't do that
Oh
Anderlecht 1-0 Antwerp👌🏾👌🏾
Chivas are shit
both Chivas's were shit to be fair
Holy shit
You guys know the femur breaker in scp ?
Zinho vanheusden got injured (shit)
I swear he screamed just like that
I’ll try to get the video
omg it did sound like that
poor guy indeed, but man that sounded VERY VERY similar indeed
Yes indeed
first time i heard an SCP scream was in a Markiplier horror reaction, and i swear he sounded JUST LIKE THAT
You guys know the femur breaker in scp ?
@clever totem Apologies, it would be a fibula and tibia break (around the ankle) not a femur (thigh bone).
I cannot see how he’d break his femur bone in that scenario
unless he was made of bubble wrap
Looks like a knee ligament or bone break
either way, out for 9 months
that always sucks
No, the femur breaker is the name of the sound effect in scp
omg it did sound like that
@twin patrol
Yeah it did. Horrifying. You aren't human if you aren't at the very least concerned for his safety 😬
Get well soon Vanheusden
yea get well soon indeed
The last time I heard someone scream like that was Bethany Mattek-Sands
For those who don't watch tennis, a couple years ago at Wimbledon she had a similar injury and she was screaming just like that
No, the femur breaker is the name of the sound effect in scp
@clever totem hahahaha apologies
you can clearly tell he's so devestated......
poor lad....
F I guess
Ouchie
Hope he gets well soon
Time for Maul's Liga 1 of the day Vol 6: 1 November 2020
First up, we have Poli Iaşi vs Viitorul. Iaşi were coming off 3 defeats in a row meanwhile Viitorul last drew vs Argeş. The game started 1 hour later than expected because of some problems with the lights. The ref decided that if it happens again on that day, Viitorul should be awarded a 3-0 win. Anyway, Viitorul scored first in the 20th minute after Alin Dobrosavlevici headed home a cross from Damien Dussaut, Viitorul dominated the game for the rest of the first half. The second half started with Iaşi dominating, and they scored in the 51th minute after Dženan Zajmović put the ball in the net. In the 54th minute, Răzvan Onea scored a nice goal from outside of the box but at the exact same time the ball went in, the lights went off for the second time. Yup, at the exact same time. The referee then put an end to the match and Viitorul were awarded a 3-0 win. Oh dear Liga 1, always yourself.
Second match of the day was between CFR Cluj and Gaz Metan Mediaş. CFR were coming off a draw in the EL vs Young Boys and Gaz Metan last lost vs Botoşani at home. This match was dominated by CFR, Gabriel Debeljuh having missed a sitter early on in the game. In the 27th minute, Gaz Metan were the ones to score first. Ronaldo Deaconu getting away from CFR's defence and finishing it nicely from the inside of the box. CFR continued to dominate but Gaz Metan scored again in the 60th minute. Former Napoli man Dumitru Cardoso scoring a deflected shot from 30 meters and CFR's goalkeeper, Grzegorz Sandomierski, diving when the ball was already in. 4 minutes later, CFR had a penalty shout after Roberto Romeo arguably fouled Alexandru Păun inside the box, the referee gave no penalty and the game continued. In the 68th minute, CFR had a goal wrongly disallowed scored by Valentin Costache. 9 minutes later, Bryan Alceus fouled Alexandru Păun and the ref controversially gave a FK for CFR instead of a penalty for CFR. CFR continued to dominate, Costache almost finding the back of the net and Mario Rondon missing a sitter. They did get a goal though, in the 2nd minute of stoppage time after Denis Ciobotariu put the ball in the net after a scramble in the 6 yard box. Dan Petrescu announced that he will resign as CFR manager after the game vs Roma on Thursday and CFR's owner decided that the team won't play their next Liga 1 match against Argeş.

GRZEGORZ SANDOMIERSKI
Jagiellonia legend
does he start for Cluj now that Arlauskis is gone?
wow so due to matchfixing Cluj forfeit a match nice
does he start for Cluj now that Arlauskis is gone?
@dire comet Nah, he is the second choice goalie after Bălgrădean. Petrescu decided to finally give him a match.
wow so due to matchfixing Cluj forfeit a match nice
Well it is matchfixing according to them, tbh I can't say anything about the 2 not given penalties, but that goal should have stood

If we're not winning it Steaua will
Speaking of
Forgot to cover Chindia vs Steaua
Maul's Liga 1 of the day Vol 7: 2 November 2020
Only match of the day saw two in-form teams against each other, Chindia Târgovişte and FCSB. Chindia were coming off an unfortunate loss to UTA and FCSB last won 5-0 vs Hermannstadt. First chance of the game came from Chindia with Marco Dulcă's shot after 12 minutes which was saved by Andrei Vlad. Steaua scored first 9 minutes later after Mihai Aioani wrongly judged Olimpiu Moruțan's cross, leaving Iulian Cristea with an open goal and the defender didn't miss. Steaua scored again in the 55th minute when Florin Tănase's shot from outside the box went in. Steaua almost scored a 3rd 8 minutes later when Cristea's pass was too slow and didn't reach Dennis Man. 9 minutes later Man's chip was off target and in the 89th min Aioani made a great save on Sergiu Buş's shot. This win helped Steaua get 3 points away from CFR and 3 points closer to Craiova.
Oh yh forgot to post the league table
Is this romania
Yup
Standard played like shit again today and lost to Lech Poznan, the Pot 4 team in the group
Belgium is practically screwed now
let s fucking go
https://twitter.com/LuxVozdovac1/status/1324487652645707776
on this day... the goat was born

Fuck Crvena Zvezda
Why tho
no Zvezda is based

🔥 «Крылья Советов» vs «Акрон»
7 ноября | 16:00 | «Самара Арена» https://t.co/QHpwLJZZqs
XDDDD

Prob salty partizan fan or albanian
@zenith island I prefer Partizan, but still, Crvena Zvezda play terrible football
i dont really see partizan this year in euro competition
It's dull, disinteresting, primarily defensive. They got lucky yesterday, as they often do in Europe
isnt the match maybe fixed this time aswell? like yall every time say
Hey, at no point did I suggest the match was fixed
All I said is that Crvena Zvezda got lucky yesterday and that they do not play attractive football
getting 4 years in a row europe, and still calling every win ''luck''
it could've been 3:1
Generally speaking, outside of Partizan, I don't cheer on the Serbian terams, especially when they take on another team in the Balkans
so they were lucky also
Oh come on. Gent dominated possession, had many chances. In the end the game was decided on a goalkeeping error
How can you then tell me that Gent were lucky when it was Coosemans' mistake that changed the game?
what tf was his mistake lmao
if u talking about the keeper
fk was just perfect
he hit the post and goalie couldnt do nothing
no one would save that
also gobeljic wide open goal, ivanic 2 clear chances
dont act like they ''dominated''
they did last 20 minutes
And in the 90th minute with that cross that Borjan just happened to keep out?
Are you seriously going to tell me that wasn't lucky?
It's a pity Gent aren't playing like they did last season, otherwise they would've won that game as well as the one on Matchday 1 easily
well if they were playing like they did last season, they would play champions league football
not our problem
I really hope that team finishes bottom of the group. Gent are better than this, it's about time they show it
Disgrace from all the Belgian teams this week, especially Standard
Hm
he saved even better in previous games
@zenith island like the Bautheac volley vs Omonia
Disgrace from all the Belgian teams this week, especially Standard
@frosty hollow no Standard was just dominated, it was visible that Lech is a miles better team
Standard look weak. They were chasing shadows in that match. With all due respect to Lech Poznan, especially given their league position, Standard, who are the Pot 2 team in the group, should not be losing, worse that badly, to the Pot 4 team in the group
Lech is 10th because they're focusing on UEL
and also Tiba and Kamiński were out
yesterday Tiba came back and destroyed Standard
We were so shit yesterday
We were so shit yesterday
@hidden valley Yeah, I didn't see that coming. I had a draw
I'm happy Roma won (only because they are Italian), but I expected better than that from Cluj
But I didn't think it was this big
Except it is
Like
The manager said he will resign after the Roma game at first (after we lost vs Gaz Metan)
They need to show up in Romania then. They won't be able to overturn the head to head, but a win could do them good
The manager said he will resign after the Roma game at first (after we lost vs Gaz Metan)
@hidden valley Yeah, I heard about this. A little bizarre to me
He then calmed down
Then
The president said that we are not going to show up to the next game
In the league
Now it's looking like we will
But still
These 2 things surely dif affect the morale of the players
did*
Then
2 CBs injured
One with CoVid
We played a RB at CB yesterday
And also Omrani injured
He's shit now anyways so it doesn't matter
Also Roma played very well
I hope we will snatch a draw in Romania
Or that CSKA draw vs YB in Bulgaria
If that happens then we are blessed
I want Roma and Cluj to progress from this group, so hopefully Cluj win their last two games
We can win them
All we need is the will to play
Last night, we were afraid from the start
You never should be afraid from the start
No matter the opponent
May it be Bayern, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona
You just can't be afraid from the start
Look at the courage Kyiv and Shakhtar had vs Barca and Real respectively
That's what we should have had

I am not gonna cover the games from midweek because I am too lazy, all you need to know is that Legia beat Warta 3-0 with 2 supposedly covid infected players on the pitch (they tested negative after the match though) and it caused a large controversy
but today it is back
Good
Ekstraklasa Of The Day vol.8 07.11.2020
First match of the day was a clash of two relegation fighters - Stal Mielec, who recently lost to league leaders Raków 2-1, were taking on Warta Poznań freshly hammered by the country's best team 😎. The match didn't start well for Warta as their freshly signed defender Mateusz Spychała committed a terrible defensive error in the 34th minute and had to fix it by brutally fouling Stal forward Jakub Wróbel and thus getting sent off. But even with Warta down to 10 men, Stal was unable to break through Robert Ivanov and Bartosz Kieliba and eventually Warta launched one quick counterattack, which resulted in striker Mateusz Kuzimski slotting home a 1v1 situation. The end result was 1-0 for Warta, which launched Piotr Tworek's overperforming team onto 9th place. (1/5)
I will cover Liga 1 games from yesterday and today tomorrow morning
Second match of the day was certainly more interesting - Probierz's controversial Cracovia side took on Jagiellonia Białystok home. It started well for Cracow's 2nd biggest team in the 25th minute when striker Tomas Vestenicky received a good through ball from Pelle Van Amersfoort and balancing on the verge of offside slotted it past the goalkeeper with a smugle half-volley. The equalizer came 15 minutes later, but it was a Ronaldinho-esque one surely. Jesus Imaz after receiving a short pass from Martin Pospisil did a sombrero flick over David Jablonsky and fired it into the bottom right corner of Karol Niemczycki's goal. The second half was much less intense and looked to end in a draw until in the 87th minute Florian Loshaj the former Poli Iasi man scored a phenomenal header from the verge of the box, and 4 minutes later Thiago hit the nail on the coffin with a low shot from the 17th meter. Jagiellonia's defeat was surely shocking for them and Bogdan Zając's job may be endangered - that would be Jagiellonia's 5th sacking in just 3 years. (2/5)

Loshaj...
And the third match of the day between Śląsk and Górnik just didn't live up to the expectations. Nothing really interesting happened except one shot from Piotr Krawczyk that was saved with impossible reflexes by Matus Putnocky. Match ended in a 0-0 draw and that means Legia can jump past Górnik tomorrow if they beat Lech. (3/5)
He's still alive
Now a brief look at Poland's 2nd highest tier. There was a whole of 5 games, with the most interesting being Termalica-Górnik Łęczna. That one ended in Termalica's 2-1 win after Roman Gergel's and Martin Zeman's goals (Gergel continues his amazing streak and now has 9 goals in 9 games) and made them jump onto the first place (although ŁKS still have a postponed match to play). On other pitches said ŁKS Łódź battered Chrobry Głogów home 4-0, GKS Jastrzębie caused a massive upset by jumping out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 away win at Odra who is placed 3rd, GKS Bełchatów still keeps their playoff hopes as they went on to beat Resovia Rzeszów 3-0 and Zagłębie Sosnowiec that is doing terribly this season was defeated home by Korona 1-3. (4/5)
League table. (5/5)
yeah they did
btw Karol Niemczycki of Cracovia was crowned the Youngster of the Month by fans and it's the first goalkeeper to win this since 2018
Ah just as expected
was benched vs Lech and Jaga
Can't wait for him to come back to Romania
As always
Dude flopped in Bulgaria
Anyways
Râpă?
Rapa is their starting RB, has a certain place in the starting 11
one of the best RBs in the league for sure
Belgium do be vibin doe
Nice to hear him doing well
hUh
5 all
Damn
Wait
Starting RB?
Did Hanca leave?
Hanca plays as a winger mostly
probably
And why didn't he play today?
Flashscore isn't saying that he's injured
Or suspended
he got dropped
Bad form?
also maybe the fact that they need to field an u23 Pole
and Probierz doesn't use much of these
yes he was good last season
Ah so it's not only us with such rule
gn
Why the hell peterboro is on the lead mateeee
This no make sense
Reading top 1
Southampton top 1
What even is 2020 i swear 😂
dang
Dynamo St. Petersburg won their zone of Russian 4th tier in their first re-establishment season after the original club went to Sochi.
Is there a Turkish one?
you can just talk about it here
you can just talk about it here
@sudden parcel agreed, since it's part of the non top 5 league discussion
Maul's Liga 1 of the Day vol 8: 6 and 7 November 2020
Oo epic
First match of Friday had an Astra side in trouble up against an inform Academica Clinceni side. Astra's last game was their first win of the season, a 4-0 win vs Poli Iaşi, and Clinceni came off a 2-0 win vs Sepsi. Astra didn't play last week vs Dinamo due to some of their players being positive for CoVid (they were negative for this match). The game was a pretty much boring one. Astra's only chance coming in the 63rd minute when Constantin Budescu's pass almost found Shlomi Azulay but Octavian Valceanu had no problems with catching the ball. Jovan Markovic scored in the 86th minute for Clinceni. Ilie Poenaru's boys scored again in the 3rd min of stoppage time after said Markovic danced through Astra's defence and chipped it to Petrişor Petrescu who didn't miss in front of an open goal. The game ended in another loss for Astra and another win from a promising Clinceni squad.
The other match of Friday involved league leaders Craiova and Chindia Târgovişte. Craiova were coming off a 1-0 win vs Hermannstadt and Chindia last lost 2-0 vs Steaua. Reagy Ofosu had the chance to score his first goal for Craiova in the 27th minute but Mihai Aioani made a fine save on his shot. 2 minutes later, Chindia were given a penalty after Marius Constantin's foul on Mihai Florea. Dinamo loanee Daniel Popa converted the penalty and gave Chindia an advantage. In the second half Craiova couldn't get past Chindia's defence, with Aioani making a couple of good saves. Chindia had the chance to wrap up the game in the dying moments but Cristian Neguţ missed from a tight angle after a great run. This win put Craiova's spot at the top of the table in danger, needing Botosani to snatch at least a draw vs Steaua to remain first. Chindia climbed up to 7th until at least Viitorul's game vs Dinamo on Sunday. Craiova's manager Cristiano Bergodi strangely resigned after the match even though he won 8 out of Craiova's 10 league games this season.
First match of Saturday had FC Voluntari up against Poli Iaşi. Both teams lost last time out, FC Voluntari having lost 2-1 vs FC Argeş and Poli Iaşi having lost 4-0 vs Astra. Voluntari scored in the 5th minute, with Cosmin Achim scoring from an arguably offside position. 29 minutes later, Marcelo Lopes scored his first goal for Voluntari with a header. In the 51th minute, Adrian Popa had the chance to score his first goal for Voluntari but Răzvan Onea deflected the shot into a corner. A corner which led to Voluntari's 3rd goal of the game, center-back Cosmin Achim scoring his 2nd goal of the game. Adrian Popa did score his 1st goal of Voluntari 6 minutes later, with a beauty of a goal from the edge of the box. The game ended in another 4-0 loss for Poli Iaşi, this being the 5th time this season they conceded 4 goals in a match. After this win, Voluntari climbed up to 9th and Iaşi stayed on the 13th spot on the table.
Second match of Saturday had Sepsi up against Hermannstadt. Both teams were coming off defeats against Clinceni and Craiova respectively. Fabio Fortes thought he scored in the 27th minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside. In the 58th minute CFR Cluj loanee Claudiu Petrilă scored a banger of a goal which hit the post and went in. 3 minutes later, another banger was scored, this time by Hermannstadt's David Mayoral, hitting a thunderbolt of a shot. This game ended in a fair 1-1 draw. Sepsi climbed up to 4th until at least UTA's match on Monday against Gaz Metan.
Last game of Saturday involved Steaua and Botoşani. Steaua last won vs Chindia and Botoşani were coming off a 2-3 defeat against UTA Arad. Botoşani scored first in the 19th minute with a banger from Eduard Florescu which Andrei Vlad should have kept out. 2 minutes later Steaua equalised, Dennis Man scoring off a rebound. In the 52nd minute, Steaua won a penalty after Olimpiu Moruţan was fouled by Alexandru Ţigănaşu inside the box. Florin Tănase converted the penalty with ease. 1 minute later, said Moruţan assisted Dennis Man in scoring his second of the game. Tănase scored the last goal of the game in the 71th minute with a rocket of a free kick. After this win Steaua became league leaders and Botoşani fell down to 10th.
Now, time to give a look to Liga 2. Petrolul won 2-0 against Rapid in a match which involved 2 big romanian teams. Struggling Viitorul Pandurii Târgu Jiu pulled off an upset against overperforming Metaloglobus Bucureşti, winning 2-1. Turris Targu Magurele drew 0-0 with Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc. Ripensia won away vs Concordia 1-0. Dunărea Călăraşi continued their fine start to the season with a win against dead last Pandurii Târgu Jiu. Mioveni won 1-0 vs Reşiţa, and division leaders U Craiova 1948 drew 0-0 vs ASU Poli Timişoara.
Liga 1 table
Liga 2 table
Damn Pandurii Targu Jiu
Thought they were promotion candidates rather than relegation candidates
Oh well
They barely got the license to play in Liga 2
Such a shame what has happened to them
They once played in the UEL group stages

as expected
former Legia player Dariusz Dudek takes over as Sandecja manager, we'll see how it turns out
he was sacked from GKS Katowice last year

oof
so Ekstraklasa Of The Day vol.9 08.11.2020
First match of the day was very based. Basically the polish El Clasico - Legia vs Lech in Warsaw. Lech was 12th in the league 9 points behind leaders Raków so obviously they needed a win, especially in such a prestigious match, but Legia as the current vice-leaders just couldn't let this one slip. Lech was tired after the midweek UEL match vs Standard Liege (won 3-1 btw) and Legia was missing half of the starting 11 including vital players like Pekhart, Kante, Antolić, Karbownik, Slisz, Remy, Vesovic. Due to the lack of strikers 19 y/o Maciej Rosołek had to start up front. Legia started attacking since the beginning, creating a few good chances, but Valeriane Gvilia just couldn't hit the goal with any of his 4 shots. Joel Valencia also wasn't having the best game of his life, which eventually led to Lech having too much space on the wing in the 30th minute, which allowed Czech winger Jan Sykora to hit a low cross into the box. None of the Kolejorz players were there to receive it, but Legia's rightback Josip Juranović switched teams for a while and placed the ball straight in the bottom left corner out of reach for Artur Boruc. This comical own goal was certainly a great summing up of his recent form at Legia. With no more goals in the first half, both teams went to the changing rooms for the halftime break. According to rumours Legia coach Czesław Michniewicz raged at Joel Valencia pretty hard and subbed him off for striker Rafa Lopes in 45'. In the second half Lech looked motivated by the away lead they had and started attacking more and more. Mikael Ishak had a simple situation that should have ended in a goal but he put it wide. Artur Boruc made some class saves as well, although his best one in this match was yet to come. Soon after Michniewicz made a double sub, bringing on winger Luquinhas and 19 year old debutant striker for who it was his first match in Polish top tier Kacper Skibicki. (continuation in the next part) (1/5)
The result was nearly instant. In the 67th minute Paweł Wszołek received a ball on the wing after a good first touch pass from Andre Martins and after dealing with promising Lech leftback Tymoteusz Puchacz who played much worse than on Thursday (when he assisted twice vs Liege), crossed the ball into the box - straight onto young Skibicki's right foot, who blasted a powerful volley to the right side of the goal. Equalizer from an unknown young supersub encouraged Legia to fight for the winning goal, although it was the guests who had the surely best situation to score and make it 2-1 - although Ishak's header from approximately three meters was incredibly parried by Artur Boruc - and if this server organized a 'Save of the week' event, this one would definitely win it. Legia took advantage then and started attacking with nearly the whole team, and they had to resort to fouls to stop Lech's numerous counterattacks. But as they say, there's always luck in leisure - in the second minute of added time leftback Filip Mladenović, who has been pretty underperforming so far after singing from Lechia Gdańsk, received the ball after a rebound and immediately crossed it into Lech's penalty box before their defenders could even come back to it straight onto Rafael Lopes's head, who had 0 problems putting it into the net from maybe 4 meters. This late winner was definitably a memorable moment and a great experience for all Legia fans, not so much for Lech though. After the match Czesław Michniewicz austerely criticized Joel Valencia for his performance, saying that he "disobeyed all of the tactical instructions and let his teammates down". (2/5)
The second match of the day was leaders Raków Częstochowa taking Wisła Kraków home. Spectators of this match certainly weren't satisfied with what they saw - not because the match was generally boring and ended 0-0, but because it was very foggy in Bełchatów where Raków play their matches due to their own ground being too small and no one saw anything. The referee didn't either, as in 90+4 he sent off Raków coach Marek Papszun for supposedly vile insulting comments towards him, while actually it was one of the Wisła coaches who shouted these. Wisła remain midtable, but two points lost home by the leaders against a definitely beatable opponent (although in good form) is a very good information for Zagłębie, Śląsk, Górnik and Legia. (3/5)
The two matches in I Liga weren't schlagers, but one of them decided the fate of a manager. The first one was playoff candidates GKS Tychy taking on midtable Puszcza Niepołomice home and this one, despite being dominated by the home side, ended in a 1-1 draw. The second match included Sandecja Nowy Sącz playing Arka Gdynia home. Arka are obvious candidates for promotion and are still trying to achieve it, and Sandecja were dead last with only one point. The result was more than expected as the Pomorskie side absolutely massacred Sandecja 5-1 and basically confirmed the sacking of Piotr Mandrysz, who Sandecja is supposed to replace with former Polish NT player Dariusz Dudek. Arka jump onto 6th place with that win, although if they take the 3 points in their postponed game that's supposed to be played after the international break they'll be fourth. (4/5)

Leszek Ojrzyński appointed as the new Stal Mielec manager
his last club was Wisła Płock which he left in summer 2019
how did he do with them before he left?
Hopefully he does well with Leszek
Wisła's last good season was under Brzęczek (who is currently the Poland NT manager)
17/18 I think
hmm interesting
they finished 5th and got instantly bought by foreign clubs
only two of the 17/18 Wisła Płock squad still plays for them
@hidden valley whats happening in Dinamo Bucharest? I heard the owners disappeared and no one can contact them or smth
So uh
They promised great things for Dinamo
Give them their power back
They even made some big name signings
Aleix Garcia for example
But uh
When it came to paying the players' wages
They didn't
FRF even made an ultimatum recently
That if they don't pay the players' wages til the end of this month
Dinamo will lose 6 pts
And you know
Their form isn't good at all
Tbf I doubt these spaniards are happy with not getting paid
@dire comet and well uh he is afraid
That's what Dinu said at least
Dinu said that he talked with him
And that he is afraid, worried and that he said he will pay the wages
Hmm
Some other news regarding Dinamo, some Dinamo fan contacted the owner and asked him about the things that are going on
And the owner said that everyone has been paid
And that the press is lying

League One related: David Milinkovic will return to Hull City after Vancouver said that they will not pickup the buy option. A Shame since he looked good at points during the season, but it is what it is
league one is the best
Innit
Lithuanian A Lyga finished today
the only match was between Suduva Marijampol, current champions, who were on 43 points, and Żalgiris Vilnius who were on 42
Żalgiris won 3-0 and regained the title after 3 years
the season was shorter than usual but still for Suduva that was a super terrible one
Żalgiris gets UCL qualifiers, Suduva and Kauno Żalgiris get UEL qualifiers
no one gets relegated because last year some clubs went bankrupt and the league is only 6 teams now, so they're expanding it
but Riteriai, who were in UEL qualifiers in the last 3 seasons finished last
former Wisła Kraków, Tubize, AC Ajaccio and Clermont striker Hugo Videmont became the top scorer and scored 2 of Żalgiris's goals in the final match, and the top assister was Eugen Yefremov from Suduva
Żalgiris gets UCL qualifiers, Suduva and Kauno Żalgiris get UEL qualifiers
@dire comet
Correction, Suduva, Kauno Żalgiris and Panevezys qualified for the UECL and not the UEL
wait no
what
youre wrong, UECL starts from 21/22 and this was the 2020 season so it's still UEL, UECL places will come next season
Remember that this season's competition counts for the 2021/22 season, and not the 2020/21 season
All the Lithuanian representatives played in Europe already, in the summer/early fall
Lithuania is 35th so they would have 3 UECL qualification spots
@dire comet
Exactly
they have 2
they have 2
@dire comet
You're forgetting Panevezys, the cup winners. They qualify along with Suduva and Kauno Zalgiris
a
still all sources say thats UEL
I even visited the A Lyga site in Lithuanian
no info abt UECL
They have it wrong
Think about it, when the UECL starts next summer, the 2021 Lithuanian A Lyga will be going on
still all sources say thats UEL
@dire comet
The only nations that have automatic entrants to the Europa League are the big 5 (two spots each, all in the group stage), nations 6 and 7 (one each, both in the group stage, but number 7 usually starts in the Playoffs), and then nations 8-15 all get one spot each (for next season all of them will start in the Playoffs unless the UEL spot in the Champions League is used, in which the representative from nation 15 will start in Q3)
Everyone else outside of the Champions League teams will play in ECL qualifying at some point (all of the Lithuanian clubs will start in Q1)
?
I thought top 15 get automatic qualification
No, only the representatives from the top 6 national associations (if the UECL title is not used, like next season, then nation 7 will also get a spot in the group stage)
Nations 7 through 12 get their representative in the Playoffs and nations 13-15 start in Q3 in the preliminary access list
honorable mentions
dag and red, hartlepool, notts county, barnet, yeovil town, york city
yeovil is in last place
@zenith island it's confirmed dragovic is in red star
why
no one cares about the early polish cup rounds
and they put out reserve teams
plus Lechia has been poor recently
Yeah Lechia have been really crap not going to lie
But however their reserve side could able to beat Grudziądz by 2-1

After Dragovic, new target for Zvezda! Lindsay Rose [ARIS]
Lindsay Rose is a Mauritian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Greek club Aris and the Mauritius national team. He was a France youth international and previously played at under-18 and under-19 level.
It is a stopper of excellent technique that guarantees you a peaceful entry into the game and that can give answers to several positions in the last defensive line. In the Greek club, Lindsay Rose plays as a right and left stopper, and was used occasionally as a right back.
Another thing fits into the story about Lindsay Rose's engagement.Red Star wont have problems with a large number of foreigners. Richmond Boakye will soon leave Red Star. Also the future of Sekou Sanogo is unknown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOSnJYZ8Nfs&t=78s
Posle Dragovića možda će stići i Lindzi Rouz!

Ekstraklasa of the day vol.10
The first match today was the more interesting one, as opposed to previous matchdays. Lechia Gdańsk took on Vitezslav Lavicka's Śląśk Wrocław, with Śląsk being rather the favourites. Robert Pich proved their superiority in the 20th minute, when former Legia youngster Mateusz Praszelik continued his amazing streak, sending a good through ball to the Slovak winger who unleashed a powerful shot into the bottom right corner of Zlatan Alomerović's (former Dortmund goalkeeper) goal. In the second half though Śląsk got their asses handed by...Brazilian Joga Bonito. Winger Conrado first scored from a rebound ball to level the state of the match, then assisted Ekstraklasa legend Flavio Paixao's tap in goal, and even after right winger Bartłomiej Pawłowski of Śląsk freshly signed from Gazisehir Gaziantep put in a perfect free kick from just outside the box, Conrado assisted another striker, this time Łukasz Zwoliński, to win Lechia the match. After this Lechia outjumped Śląsk in the table and is now 4th. (1/5)
Second match of the day was certainly a shocker, as Górnik Zabrze took on winless in 8 games Piast Gliwice in the Upper SIlesia derby. Naturally, while sitting third in the table with a realistic chance to jump to first in case of a win, the home side were the usual suspects for the betting, but they disrespected a still strong Silesian side and suffered because of it. First goal came in the 29th minute after a terrible mistake from Roman Prochazka, who headed the ball in such an unfortunate direction that he set up Jakub Świerczok for an easy 1v1 situation against Martin Chudy, with the Pole taking advantage of it and putting Piast on the lead after chipping the ball over the goalie straight into the middle of the goal. Second goal came in the second third of the match, when Martin Konczkowski sent a decent cross to midfielder Sebastian Milewski, who hit yet another banger (this time with a clean volley) this season despite being known as "the one who doesn't score" previously. Górnik managed to get one back later on, after Piotr Malarczyk failed to intercept a long ball and it flew just over his head to Jesus Jimenez, who being the Górnik main man now had no trouble slotting it home. With this win the Piast fans are undoubtedly relieved, as they jumped out of the relegation zone after a siege over their local rival and things are looking to get better now. (2/5)
Third match of the day wasn't actually Ekstraklasa, but it was between two Ekstraklasa sides in the Polish cup - Wisła Płock on their Rubble Road (stadium is going through renovations so they temporarily moved to another pitch that's located next to a giant mountain of debris) took on Pogoń Szczecin in the Polish cup round of 32. In the 18th minute the hosts opened the scoring with Lewandowski (sadly not Robert, but Mateusz - signed on a free from Berliner Dynamo FC in German 4th tier this summer) slotting the ball into an open net after Pogoń goalkeeper Dante Stipica slipped while trying to kick the ball and therefore missing it. In the 33th minute though youngster Milan Obradović committed a foul in the 16 meter box, and the pen was converted by Kamil Drygas. The match was very numb then, the only notable event was Giorgi Merebashvili receiving his 2nd yellow in the 80th minute. Naturally, it had come to pens, which were started terribly by Pogoń, when Legia legend currently heavily underperforming for Kosta Runjaić's team Michał Kucharczyk missed the first one. Fortunately for them, another former Legia winger Piotr Pyrdoł missed the third pen for Wisła, which was immediately followed by Hubert Matynia's miss though. But as it turned out experienced striker Airam Cabrera didn't have the nerves of steel needed and failed to put his one away, and then Obradović (the same who caused the penalty for Pogoń in the 33th) overshot his one as well and eventually Portowcy (Pogoń's nickname, literally translates to 'harbour workers') were the team going through. (3/5)
The only match in I Liga today was also quite interesting, as Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza tried to take advantage of their sitting on 1st place direct promotion rivals ŁKS losing their midweek game to Arka Gdynia and suffering their first loss of the season and jump to the leader's chair over them by taking on Widzew Łódź, legendary team with a rich owner who promised big things for the fans like returning to old glory (doesn't look like anything like this is going to happen though) who are pushing for the playoff spot still. Nieciecza have the league's leading scorer Roman Gergel who has 9 goals in 12 games, although he didn't need to contribute to have his team win 2-0 and become the new race leader, although with only 2 points over ŁKS and 9 over 3rd placed Górnik Łęczna. (4/5)
League table. (5/5)
