@unkempt crag There are many big Spanish clubs, they're just not as well known outside of Europe. Bilbao, Betis, Sevilla, Valencia, Sociedad, are all huge clubs. Betis are the 3rd most supported club in Spain (ahead of Atletico). Betis-Sevilla is one of the best derbies in football as well, incredible atmosphere and incredible games. The rest are all fairly large as well, but not as supported as the aforementioned clubs
Also, spots are allocated for UCL and EL the same as EPL, Bundesliga and Serie A. Spain has the highest co-efficient (judged by the clubs performance in the UCL/Europa league) so they get the most CL/EL spots.

First things first, I do apologise for the post earlier about the whole "F Barcelona thing" it wasn't me and I regret saying it at all.
Secondly, in regards to picking a La Liga side, i realised that i didn't really handle it well, if at all. All i looked at was the state of the team at this point in the season before the season was put on hold. I just said "fuck it, let's go with this", without reading anything else into it at all. Supporting a club isn't all trophies and domestic success as I found out, it was more than that.
I realised that, while both Barcelona and Madrid may have success on the pitch with various trophies and good domestic seasons, it's far beyond that, and I've come to learn that supporting a team that cares about their fans and their own teammates.
I hate the Idea of being a plastic fan, but I've decided to move away from RM and go in favour of Barcelona. It's not "Oh i realised Messi IS the Goat and is awesome and I'm supporting them for that reason only!" No. If there's a team that has fun (RE: their youtube channel), and can do well on both the International and Domestic scale, and can interact with the fans as much as anyone, I would go and support them for those reasons. Not because "Oh this looks fun let's go with that"
This concludes the ever long post, I apologise for it, but hopefully it explains what i wanted to say....
