The evolution animation is pretty cute, you see the cell "absorb" everything around and poof.
The twirly thing is still near the cell, so are the food I gave my tama (lots of chicken !)

Yes, I’m not sure what the lab does yet but I love that it keeps tracks of how many tamas you’ve raised! I had to do it by hand for the Uni.

It's actually awesome ! The best way to describe it is : on this tama, they tried to really separate the player / care taker, from the tama. The lab is your space, you keep track on missions, you earn gotchi points to buy food and items, etc. Out of the lab you take care of your tamagotchi buddy , the normal stuff, feed, play etc.
Think about it , on previous versions, your tamagotchi went to the arcade to earn gotchi points; Now you play with your tamagotchi (just like the pix with the hula hoop game, you play just for fun) and on the lab you play to earn gotchi points.
By the way, the mini games on this device are absolutely awesome !

I think it’s an awesome little tama. Playing (and hearing) the arrows game made me so happy. And the zooming animation is really really good. I will need to order new and better rechargeable batteries.

It appears that other Tamagotchi’s can grow up in the same field that your Tamagotchi grows up in, but you can only take care of one Tamagotchi at a time

ask the caretaker to come ! (need gotchi point) ( I can tell you, it's 300g, and last until 7pm
She will take care of your tama for you

I can give you more info than that :
in the help section, you have the babysitter, yeah, and the new tama :
when you tama get to adulthood, you'll be able to use this option to either "breed" or "get a new egg"
breed : find a tama to make a new egg with, and it'll " gen mix" for the colors and the eyes
new egg : start from the beginning, resetting the genes

do we have a release date for US orders or preorders?

can you choose how many go out? can you choose which ones stay? what happens when you get more than 4? do the others get deleted or?

Preorders already seem to have passed unless they suddenly refill them, actual release in US is august first in spite of the rest of the world getting it july 12. France got it a few days ago due to a special event, but afaik only for said event
You can only care for one at a time from what I hear, but you can release prior tamas you've raised into the field to hang around and interact with stuff in the meantime, 4 per area (12 total at one time)
I dunno if you can bring them back out once you pull them from the field to replace with another, but I'd assume they stay in the field until they're removed, dunno if there's a lifespan limit on the one in active care tho. Dunno what happens to extras or replaced ones once you have more than can fit in a field, we'd need people who'd had it for a while to test that I'd assume

I don't know fort sure but iirc some of the artwork of mixed tamas in the manual are water/land hybrids (body of one but eyes of another) so unless the artwork is a lie it's probably a thing

Water soaked chicken. I fed my kid chicken then brought them back to the water so they can play with their parent. They still have wings.

And they’ve lost them… so it’s possible to change them as kids but you have to stay there. I had chicken in my cell but it’s now gone.

Raising your planetary level seems to do it. Relocating the kid tama lets you change the potential species but the color and eyes will stay the same imho.

How I did it: my friend brand her uni, cut a bigger size, then put on uni and reduced it slowly. Then when it was a Nice size, cut the edge a bit

With one whole screen protector you can cut like 6 or 7 for your tamagotchis so it's a good option 💜

Iirc last year it wasn't as, how do you say, populated? There were a lot less people. For example, the Unis on display could be played with at all times whereas I could barely get near a Paradise this year (the only one I got close to was out of batteries). Even the Plaza demo always had someone playing!
The booth was a lot more complex and more interactive so it could have played a part. Miss the huge UFO balloon tho, it made it easy to find the stand

Welcome! I always keep a spare screen protector and it's nice to do it myself so I have more control, also I tend to often fail while applying ok screen 🥲 so having many tries with one I can cut many helps me out

a good way to perfect the game is to wait a bit before pressing a button, you do have some time to react. For the arrow game I see that there are patterns. Not sure how many but could often win 5 vs 0 knowing few now

Perfecting games might add suns faster to the cell (have to verify that more when mine turns teenager)

Yes it's the 12th! But sites begin to say 18th now so not sure how it goes, but preorders should come along 15th and after for sure 🙂

Also sometimes the dates don't reflect shipping, my friend shipped my paradise and the site told me I would get it the 10th but had it this morning in the end, not complaining at all but yeah sometimes it can come sooner

Not all of them are idle sprites tho.
I recreated a few but decided to wait a bit after the official release to see if anyone rips the sprites.

Hopefully I can find someone I can get them off of. I'll donate some $ as thanks. Then I can get started on some growth charts and guides meanwhile you guys can do the wiki. I'll be silently stalking Cyanic and Mr.Blinky's accounts for news of asset dumps. 😆 Those are the only two I know of that do that sort of thing.

I'd rather not waste time recreating them only for them to immediately be replaced once someone shares a sprite dump. We may have to figure out eye placements tho

That's essentially why I haven't done any recreations. No point if we can get an easy sprite dump for this device.

we have? for all tyhe characters we dont currently have idle sprites for, there are recreated sprites from the how to play images

I want to do a full English guidebook recreation like I did for Smart but I'll need basically the entire sprite dump to do it. I was hoping to do one for Uni but I never got a break from recreating its sprites

I either grabbed those from the GIFs they had on the website or NeoMametchi's recreation of the one Land Field image.

Those aren't "idle" sprites tho. In those images Bandai used different animations for some of them

I put them in that table as placeholders for when we get actual idle sprites, which will be way easier from a dump than trying to recreate them from images.

yeah, i know there placeholders, but theres also sky and water field images aswell and those dont have their placeholder sprites

The problem with those images were they were in a stretched resolution that wasn't 1x1, so NeoMametchi has to painstakingly recreate each sprite for the Land one. He didn't do the Sky or Water ones.
