I can't help but feel that the game's much more suited to a PvE style mode than the current PvP Quench mode. I know this is lots more work compared to just more PvP modes, but I can't shake the feeling that Kiln would really shine in a PvE setting.

Co-op Horde Mode (The obvious one)
I think it's been mentioned in the community before. A "Salmon Run" (secretly the best mode in Splatoon) or "Orcs Must Die" style horde mode would draw in a whole bunch of people. I would love to see what the enemies in this charming world would look like (A Hammer? A toddler? Or pots most infamous enemy "green tunic adventurer")

Co-op extraction
There's a drought due to the overquenchification of the launch and the spirits must go and extract some water from the sea and bring it back to the fountain of Arethusa. Scylla is not a fan and will do anything to defend her property. Points and experience is given based on how much water the group extracts. Will you go in with a small or sturdy pot to defend players carrying water, or will you build the biggest pot to focus on extraction whilst your allies keep you safe?
This would be a great mode to do different objectives with. Reference games are f.e. helldivers 2 and outlast trials.

Co-op Rogue lite (probably too much resources needed, but one can dream)
Start as a simple small shape, but add clay/decoration to buff yourself as you progress through the game. If your pot breaks - make a new one and start over. Fight your way through biomes to defeat the Gods' kilns. Maybe let people keep their broken legacy pots for other modes 😉
Hades, Shape of Dreams etc.

These are just some really rough outlies I put into sentences really quick. I'm sure other people have thoughts and ideas, too x

honestly these all sound really cool and the lore behind all of them sound pretty legit
