I read in the game guide that VIPs can join the Gray faction. I joined the VIP subscription and made a new character under the same account but the door to choose the faction was still locked.

Update: I was playing the second character on my account, and just picked a random faction. I played until after the first battle and it looks like it didn’t get VIP combat rewards which means that VIP is character based and not account based.

So there is no way for players that are not backers to play as Gray even if they are VIP since you cannot buy VIP until your first battle anyways.

Can I request a refund?

Someone told me that Gray was only for backers. In the game manual it says for VIP too.
