#Captain/crew disappeared + the game does not allow you to set MLZ

To begin with, when I upgraded the ship, the game restarted and all the characters that were there disappeared, even the captain. Then the captain was replaced by him, photo below. Although there is a different character on the avatar. And they won't let me put the MLZ back.
