Specifically changing it to a choice between the 11 other seats rather than randomly selecting three champions, it'd give the player more agency when selecting champions instead of seeing the choices, then restarting the adventure because they got bad rolls.

This sounds like less agency? I'd rather have the freedom to roll for the champ I want, and I don't mind a little bit of thinking from time to time.

Making it select 3 seats at random would be more helpful than 3 individual champions. But restricting it so it can't choose BDS seats would be too restrictive - as mattender says.

I will concede and say that 3 seats selected at random is better, I was just thinking a bit too closed off. Specifically I was thinking about doing a BDS formation and that was a restrictive mindset.
