We think they were a disciple. The pyramid on the moon was his and drifter aparently went in to a tomb of his some time ago. He's in the relics.

All those chunks of meat, hair and other biological bits and bobs are him which someones put into a relic to be put back together at a later date

We don't really know much about him tbh

Aparently according to one of the lore books the pyramid lured some eliksni into the pyramid some time ago

And my guess is that they made the relics

They even saw and fought some of the wet earth creatures that the black armory papers spoke off

The eliksni knew what hive were because of riis being destroyed but I'm not sure they knew just yet so I'm unsure whether these are hive or not

It's entirely possible these could be a pyramid race deal

The crux in the middle starts the encounter. Enemies spawn from 2 sides, and attack obelisks in the middle. Don't let them. Don’t shoot the obelisks yourself. Shooting them fills them up. When the obelisks fill, you wipe. They also fill naturally. There's another tower near each obelisk with three hexagons on, killing ads shows the first symbol.

One side of the large room has Traveler symbol, the other has Pyramid. Top symbol is always one of these, showing the side where Disciple’s Compass spawns. The Compass is a taken knight that hides around the perimeter. Killing the Compass reveals the Middle symbol. Shooting the crux in the middle opens/toggles the doors. Inside the room are two Glyph Keepers. There are also glyphs on each side of the room. Bottom glyph on the tower shows which side Glyph Keeper you’re supposed to kill (Light: left - Darkness: right). Killing a glyph keeper spawns another triad in the air above it, and the middle is a glyph.

Killing (all of) the correct Glyph Keeper(s) gives chat log “The obelisk awaits your offering” and glyphs appear on the obelisk. Shoot the glyph from the correct Glyph keeper. If you shoot the wrong glyph on obelisk you get a chat log: “The obelisk rejects your offering”.

When the encounter starts, have someone watch the boss. Keep boss from reaching the middle obelisk. Have someone stay close to the boss so you can shoot him in the head then in the back. If the boss reaches the middle and interacts with the obelisk, you wipe. Make sure to keep shooting the balls he throws out.

Phase 1:

Have 1-2 people go into a room by shooting cruxes, which will let you into a room with symbols on sticks. There will be 6 symbols to grab, 3 per person, while 2 yellow bar witches, and taken thrall, try to kill you as well as the pervading darkness buff.. Collect your symbols as fast as you can. When you collect these, you will get a buff called Overflowing Knowledge. Call to be let out of the room by your teammates, run to the obelisk, and both of you shoot the symbols you just collected. You must be quick or it rejects your offering. Shooting the correct symbols takes off stacks of Pervading Darkness.

DPS Phase:

Once the symbol phase is done, dps phase will begin. The boss will spawn wells around him that you need to stand in to dps him. Once a well is used, another well will spawn you need to get to dps again, keep rotating till dps phase ends.

Phase 2:

Go up the stairs to start the next part of the encounter. Rinse and repeat what you did in Phase 1.

Final encounter
Walk forward to start the encounter. You will start on a massive symbol that will change symbols as you stand on it starting with 2 hands. There is a area you can’t walk into where the boss is. Someone will get a buff called Leeching Force.

During this encounter there will be 2 big pillars on the left and right that symbols spawn on. In the middle of the arena there are mini pillars that will also have sets of symbols. You will want to label the mini pillars L1, L2, L3(1 is close, 2 middle, 3 back) and then do the same for the right. After the encounter starts, and you start looking for symbols, whoever has leeching force needs to jump into the laser beams, they come out of the back across the arena, that will give them a buff called Emanating Force. This person will then be able to move forward into the mini pillar area and will be your symbol depositor.
As that is happening, have the left people read their symbols on the main big pillar and the right people read theirs on the right big pillar. You need to find the matching symbol on 1 of the pillars. Have the person with the emanating force buff go to that pillar and deposit that symbol into it. After you do this you will start the process over and buffs will be exchanged. You will also be able to move forward in the arena.

Major Story Spoilers: ||the final boss is a guy called Rhulk from an alien race we've never seen before. He's from a planet called Lubrae where the Witness recruited his fallen civilization. Rhulk becomes the Witness's Disciple and travels to the planet Fundament where he subjugates the planets worm gods and the worm mother Xita he takes for himself. Then The Witness uses a worm familiar to trick Sathona (soon to be Savathun) into believing the Traveler in the sky is a great enemy and thus the hive are created.||

More spoilers: ||Rhulk is sent to monitor Savathun and the hive, molding her actions from behind the scenes, in the hopes that she will become an eventual disciple of the Witness as well. Well, obviously that doesn't happen, and Savathun eventually gets reborn from the Traveler, giving her power over the light. After she shares that light with her brood, she traps Rhulk in the Pyramid on her throne world. Rhulk hates this, and so he commands the Scorn to attack her throne world. After we kill Savathun, nothing is holding back Rhulk...and we're sent to invade to pyramid to indirectly prevent Rhulk escaping.||

Continued Spoilers: ||Rhulk has been using Xita (Xita is the "mother worm" from Fundament) to experiment with different darkness/hive creations. After the Savathun/Rhulk split and his entrapment, he starts using worm larve and Scorn to make a new army. He also has this...thing i'll post here called "The Upended" which is a superweapon said to be capable of destroying worlds. ||

The point Destiny has made in the last two expansions ||is that there is no good and evil. There are two god like powers fighting an endless war against each other and using different races as pawns to achieve their own goals. The Hive were lied to. The Fallen were betrayed. The Cabal, also lied to. The Traveler chose humanity but we were not it's frist choice. There is no good and evil.||

But yes, ||the witness isn't wrong. Since we don't have a voice for the Traveler, we don't get to hear it's side of the story but it's actions HAVE saved humanity multiple times. But whether or not that was because of us being "good" or the Traveler still needing protection from the Witness, i guess we'll have to wait and see. ||
