Just returned after a 2 year break and got the season pass in the sale.
What do I need to do in this last month to make sure I get all the good stuff from the season?

Current season lasts till June. There was supposed to be a mid-season update next month which will get pushed out by another month for Marathon release
Nothing gets deleted from loot pools in mid-season update, new sets get added though so it's efficient to farm ferropotent set (best armor set in my opinion)
I would start by doing final shape campaign, unlock prismatic subclass, then explore renegades campaign and portal. Nothing obtainable now gets deleted till June so you've time

I think it's better to not touch this game at all. It's dead bc of Bungie's choices over the years and there are literally no players online anymore; one month ago we registered the lowest player count ever, worse than Osiris DLC
Just a matter of time before the servers get shut down

Yeah I just want to finish the dark/light story and then watch it die

Give renegades story a shot as well. I personally enjoyed it a lot and it has generally very positive reviews from the community. It's the system/grind related changes mainly from edge of fate which drew mostly negative reviews and now colors other aspects of the game as well
