Renegades story on legendary gives you a 550 power armor set.

It only does so if you're near 550 already. Look for activities with more completion rewards and bonus engrams (green icons on bottom right) first

#

Once these are exhausted, reclaim from fireteam ops (condustor's keep, cabal watch, fallen bunker) and caldera/K1 from solo ops are most efficient PvE activities

#

PvP has more bonus engrams and if that's your cup of tea you can get quite a lot of power gear by playing those activities once a day

its based off of your power at the time

but the story is by far the easiest to level up fast, do your other characters if you havent yet, itll boost you even more

i went up like 150 lvl by doing the campaign on all 3 characters
