Super easy to farm strange coin these days from portal activities. Attune at ghost and then roll at Xur till you get your combination, much more efficient than chest farming

Portal ops. Caldera or Ki1 logistics solo ops takes 4-5 min and gives ~5 strange coins in addition to gear + power level

Does the xur gamble exotic have every exotic in the game?

Yes, and if you attune a trait at ghost, almost 60% of rolls have that trait so it becomes super easy to get the exact combination you want. This is for class exotics

Note Xur purchases do not consider your ability focus (set at ghost in the pale heart)

Between 3 characters, I've ~30 combinations in my vault so must have rolled a couple hundred times at Xur. Purely based on experience, every other roll I got had what was attuned at the ghost at the time of rolling
