I'm looking to get a god-roll Abyssal Edge, Watchful Eye, and Psychopomp before Edge of Fate releases and everything is moved to Xur.
Currently, I've been going into Expert Nether and looking for the Mausoleum starting zone, finishing just the first section, if it's Mausoleum, then doing it all over again starting from going to orbit and looking for the Mausoleum.

Does Expert have a much higher chance of dropping more weapons and Shinys (+Adepts) compared to Normal, even if it takes longer to complete?

Adepts only drop in expert. Shiny drops in both normal and expert (adept versions), not sure about the relative drop chance
You may want to quickly farm for regular god-rolls first and then try for adepts to make good use of time. If you're farming adepts, rush to the bosses as only they drop adepts. If farming regular, check every chest you can find and don't rush as each chest drops weapons
It's much easier to farm act2 weapons in court of blades expert as it only takes 10 min each run and is a dps dump, you however need a good lfg team to farm nether efficiently
