Spirit of Necrotic or Necrotic Grip?

Can spirit of Necrotic spread poison normally like the original Necrotic Grip with weapons of sorrow? Is there any difference like poison damage reduced? big fan with Osteo Striga

It spreads the same but poison dmg doesn't ramp up over time. Over 9 seconds, spirit would do half the total dmg but if you're killing ads quickly then there's little difference.
