`I’m getting back into D2 currently, I’ve mained warlock for such a long time, never played any other characters.. I have a titan and a hunter but don’t really play them.

I got the rite of the nine armor and stuff on both of them but my question really is how do I go about getting good exotics and weapons for the different characters? Can I transfer over my weapons from my warlock to my hunter as an example?

yes you can
you can use DIM (a website) to freely transfer your items around
exotics you get from all the exotic sources as per usual (gms, lost sectors, xur)

Weapons are transferable, armor is not. I experimented with titan and hunter a month back
If you have finished echoes on main character, run a few breach executable and collect radiolaria samples (use hammer). Mission is easy and matchmade so can do even on new chars
Once you reach ~3k radiolaria (or whatever your capacity is), use new char to deposit all radiolaria, you'll get ~3 exotics per run. Use engrams to focus high stat legendary armor
You've to do 1st echoes mission on new char for this to work, again an easy mission
