Do i need to get all catalysts and secret chests on expert? or can i do one expert normally and get all chests in the normal difficulty

I saw a comment in a yt video saying that he did all puzzles first including all intrinsics iam 99% sure on normal before doing one expert run normally

I did all puzzles and chests including catalysts in normal, then did a single expert run and got all catalysts at the end without touching any chest/puzzle in this run
