Some non-prismatic Hunter builds?

I know Prismatic is the Meta now, but i want to run some mono-class builds too.

Gonna just send a message here so I can find the thread again once I have more time to explain some of my mono-class builds in detail 👍. Also, are you mainly looking for stuff that holds up in gm or also a bit more casual stuff like exotic missions?

I have 2 main ones that I use for GM, both a little outdated since they are probably about a year old but still work quite well, and I'll mainly just decribe the general idea of the builds so you can see what works best for you, and have some other ones when I just want to play casually

like running ritual activities. All of them hunter by the way, noticed you didnt mention any specific class

I use prismatic for that, was basically just an upgrade from the arc version when it came to arc melee. Also it's very good but to me it now just feels kinda braindead, I only use it because it is my best option for solo content like solo dungeons and exotic missions

strand hunter is fun. not a great super but the aspects are pretty good

my gm options were made without looking at the artifact mods, and tbh almost none of my builds are focused around it

although my void gm option is now extra fun bc of the void buffs

and now I also use it for casual stuff just with different weapons

it’s difficult to recommend stuff on hunter without mentioning prismatic

everything else kind of got powercrept to oblivion

Nah, I only use prismatic for arc melee, all my other options are mono-subclass and work pretty well for what they are made to do. Of course maybe its not the meta, but it works well enough

gyrfalcons hunter will always be pretty strong. pair that with graviton lance, buried bloodline, collective obligation, or wavesplitter

which of the weapons do you use?

i cant imagine it being weak. void is incredibly strong atm

Graviton lance or any void primary + Commemoration on non DPS encounters

Loadout is fine. Light subclasses also have unique aspects and generate more orbs.

I would recommend collective obligation or buried bloodline though. alot stronger and more fun

I use Arc Hunter with gifted conviction and Ascension bc of the fact its melee builds are dead since prismatic dropped.

yeah, but if I join a gm through this server and they start crying that I dont use prismatic I usually just get them to shut up, and I have never heard anyone care what subclass I use in raids and stuff

I feel like general chat often just has the worst of destiny when it comes to talking about builds. So many people there that only care about meta and dont understand that others play this game to have fun

Arc Hunter with tempest strike+ascension bolt charge build is fun and good with gifted conviction

ooh yeah, I have that one too. Only problem for me was that (at least with my build) it had a lot of resistance, but barely any healing or other ways to avoid death when resis isn't enough

kinda sad that because of that, it didnt keep up in higher end content for me, considering it was really fun

Yeah the prism version has a lot more compared to the arc version because of access to woven mail and invis

Tempest strike + Ascension doesn't work. I tried, and it didn't make me always amplified, causing me trouble

You must choose one to pair with Flow state

Or at least, that was my experience. Who knows...
