Im doing the delicat tomb legacy catalyst quest, and dont have time for 50 nightfalls.

you can test that by just launching 1 private match

you'll hardly find someone that still has one of the old quests that can test that for you

the quest says that guardian kills grant progress. does that work in private?

Yes they do, you get the same progress by doing other ritual activities

Just launch a private game, set burnout as map and the flag capture mod plus 5 points to victory go capture plate and relaunch
