It's okay, it'll function as an anti barrier weapon. It's just a play style that's dependent on sitting back and slowly killing enemies one by one.
You could run pulse + smg/shotgun but I don't overly like it. With the LS + SMG, you have a permanent buff to the smg dmg and the lost signal maxes transcendence.

This is good but its gonna be useless in 12 days

The waves are a minor part of the dmg, the ignition is unaffected. At worse, you stop clearing a room in one slam and need to use a 2nd.
