How do I use /join in the chat
Im on ps5 and using discord on phone

In orbit press the right button to enter text area (not in orbit you have to bring up your ghost first, similar to when you summon your sparrow, and than press right), than press triangle to bring up your inputs. There you can type the join code, but as others mentioned, before the time you insert the code the fireteam is usually full 😅 you're better off posting to join on you.
