I’m really confused is it possible to get raid exotics if it isn’t the weekly raid?

I have been farming a raid for an exotic and someone told me it’s isn’t possible unless it’s weekly raid and another person said it is possible sooo idk

if the raid is not the rotator raid (includes Salvation's Edge), you have one chance at the exotic per character per week
