pulses and intrinsic stuff is generally better than smgs in higher end content, since you wanna be more at range most of the time

Arbalest or erianas 1 shot them if your willing to lose the call

pulse rifles got a 20% general buff for final shape against everything, and a 15% against red bars, which leads to +38% dmg against red bars (1.2 * 1.15 = 1.38)
