Where did you check this? We still have like 20 days before Act 1 ends but it doesn't work like this

The "Acts" are just how their dividing up the story content essentially. So you can do all the story in one go for Act 1 then move on to 2 when it releases.

The seasonal activities all remain even when the episode concludes just like when a season is done (like it's always been)

The whole episode thing is just a different more confusing model their experimenting with, everything essentially works the same as before though
