What does it mean to complete weekly vendor challenges to acquire powerful rewards. I have done all the crucible, gambit and strikes and still i have not obtained this and don't understand why, please help!!!!!!

Should be any activity with a gold medallion next to it. Usually "x" number of strikes, gambit matches, etc. Fill the bar and get a "Powerful Engram", usually exotic or prime.

yeah I tried this too, maybe it just didnt work that time but I did multiple cricible, strikes and gambit but it still didnt make any progression when i completed it and got the exotic
at this point i feel this actual quest is just annoyingly outdated for its time. I stoping playing for a year as a break and came back to this annoying quest which is vague given the lack of bounties now in the game

You could try Destination Vendors that still have bounties. Fynch, Variks, Failsafe (Helm), Ada-1, but what you're looking for is any activity that provides a powerful Engram.

I tried to do this at the cosmodrone but it didnt make any progression even after completing all of the bounties

Okay, I Googled it. These are now tied to Rank Rewards. Rank up the appropriate vendors and they should give you powerful gear.

Oh, okay. Lol. Thought maybe it wasn't counting powerful gear for you because you were under 1940. Yeah, try ranking up the ritual vendors and see if that does it.

Steam Community forums are saying this Guardian Rank Requirement is bugged. Banshee is the only vendor that qualifies.
Supposedly there's a way to complete it over 2 weeks or with 2 characters, but I don't have time to verify that right now.

yeah i 100% believe that because i have done literally everything but the only thing that got me to 1/2 of the progress of this quest is the weekly bounties for banshee
so i would 100% agree with that
