Before TFS your pinnacle rewards etc... would be +(certain amount of power) above your highest item in the slot
meaning if I got a kinetic weapon it would be +(5) of the highest item on the kinetic slot

it was never a direct increase in the slot, it was always based off of your highest average

That's not true before TFS and LF it was based on the highest piece on the slot of the drop... I had tested it
It has been a misconception for a pretty long time.
However I did hear something about changing that for LF and I wasn't sure... but I just noticed rn while getting drops that there was something fishy
And ye as you just confirmed it's about the average... which I find dumb cause you'll have to equip your highest armour before claiming or dropping anything... which is not smart at all from bungie but ok
I'm not going to infuse every piece everytime I get even a +3 higher lmao

idk what you tested but it wasnt right, i remember getting plenty of wasted pinnacles because they were in the same slot as mu highest one
