I apologize if the question has been asked a million times but i'd like to pick up the game again. Do i just need the new expansion and season pass? or do i need previous expansions to not miss out on dungeons/weapons?.

"need" nothing, but if you can get old dlc's not seasons on sale do it

Each expansion comes with their own dungeons and raids, so if you want to do a specific one, then you need the dlc it came with

So if you want to do vow of the disciple for example, you need witch queen

Or if you want to play root of nightmares, you need lightfall

No dungeon has gear that you NEED to have though. theres some good weapons but mostly they're all bad

the 2nd part of his question is "do I need expansions to not miss out on dungeons..." and my answer is no. Obviously they're fun to do and nice content but he isn't missing out on anything weapon or content wise

One thing i do know is that the campaigns for shadowkeep and beyond light (including stasis subclass) will become free after the final shape launches

Lets rephrase the question to "do i need expansions to play dungeons", would you still give the same answer?

Cause sure you might say he isnt missing out on anything if he doesnt buy say, the dungeon key for lightfall, but if he does buy it you get 2 dungeons that i would argue are some of the best in the game

On top of the weapons and armor you can get from them

Also youre forgetting exotics

And if youre talking about the grapple changes, just grapple faster

Many top players can already do grapple melees within 1 second so the grapple changes will literally do nothing for them

It's not directly being nerfed but the only character really making use of it is banner titan and it's being nerfed to the ground

it's not gonna be too good for damage phases anymore

Wouldnt say nerfed into the ground... Still gonna be better than most other titan subclasses, if not all

Only thing thats changing is instead of getting synthos buff x1.4 you get synthos buff x1.15

Or wormgod buff x1.15 instead of wormgod buff x1.4

So like, its still going to do busted as sht damage
