tell him not to risk it and if you are actually worried dont play with him until he takes them off
but generally it shouldnt pick them up if they are actually turned off and not messing with destinys files
people have gotten banned for non active cheats and people have gotten banned for association
depends on what the hacks do, if you heard about what happened to Cruz (worlds 1st raider, played with salt). He had cheats for a old single player game and got banned because d2 detected it.
I would say in general just get rid of them as there is no point in risking it (also cheating in games is lame)
that cheat had full access to ram memory and may be ring-0 access that why it got flagged. do not quote me on this.
that cheat was a ram editor, and its how cheats work in all games. Very far from ring, but it was the same type of software
