Doing Legend Whisper is easy except for when I run into the dozens of taken guys with shields who are basically invulnerable to anything EXCEPT precision damage.

Are you talking about the boss or just normal ones?
You have to stagger them to melee them, shoot them with a shotgun or sniper in and then you will be able to melee them

I'm talking about the fact that theres several dozen at the end in Whisper, and you can't simply wait for them to drop shield, or melee them. there's too many, so i
don't understand how i saw a noob like rick kackis use banner of war build, but it isn't working there for me. atleast not while solo that is.
