They are baiscally equal as they are nearly the same weapon, only difference is edge transit is easier to get

Hgl’s are easier to use over apex thats what makes them good.

Heavy GLs are in a great spot but if you put them against someone with apex izi swap who knows how to do the rotation total damage will be higher than that of GLs

i say this as someone who has the cataphract godroll and have done my own testings with both options. edge transit with cascade/envious and BnS will be similar. Best in class burst but not highest total damage

Google destiny 2 data compendium its a very thorough spreadsheet with all the game information there is plus all the weapons (loadouts ) ranked from highest to lowest with the criteria that they require

The one advantage rockets over GLS have is the heavy bricks pickup. Even with a scavenger mod one heavy brick can give 2-3 heavy gl ammo on some cases but on rockets it will never be less than 2 with scavenger mods
