What are you referring to? There's no strategy to getting Catalysts to drop, you're either lucky or you're not.
That being said, the drop rate is pretty abysmal but you literally just have to keep farming the quickest (or most engaging) ritual activity

Some catalyst have to be earned by doing a quest or doing a specific task with the weapon but a lot just drop from playlist activities.
