you need it for the seasonal quest, yes

the mission for it is part of the seasonal story, so youll be prompted to do it along the way

if you don't have the season pass yet I recommend not buying it as this season isn't worth it

has 2 good guns and the bow itself is pretty bad. don't buy the season pass purely because you want the bow
