Ive enjoyed equipment like precious scars and lumina. Yet, I'm just now getting into endgam content.

#

How viable is a support focused build in endgame raids and dungeons?

#

I don't mind switching out of Titan to a different class if there's one with better options.

running well + lumina + rocket in a raid is viable. Lumina gives a 35% buff and well is well.

can even be hyper support focused and run lumina with a legendary trace and cenotaph

true

#

however for pretty much any content in the game, survivability isnt an issue so "support" builds are usually inferior to a good adclear/dps build

#

like cenotaph is great with lumina and a trace in gms if ur teammates are potatoes, but 3 half decent strand titans will mow through everything twice as quick for example

In that case, could I make up for lack of damage with gjallahorn?

if you are looking to play raids then being a wellock with lunafactions and gally would be huge for like 90% of the bosses in the game

#

people will love you if you are dedicated gally dude

support builds generally tend to be less about speccing fully into support and more bringing specific support tools and building into as much damage as possible arround it

#

like you take either ghally, tractor or lumina and try and align your build as much as possible to a traditional dps build

glacial gate

Yeah basically

Mate if you do raid roles and well and gally, you're forever mvp

#

Or div when needed
Or invis hunter and fast orb dunks and debuffs

So, destiny isnt so much about healing and keeping people alive as it is understanding the encounter and knowing what to bring to make everyone's run easier.

only time you would really need a lumina is when you really need to pass a dmg check for a day 1/master raid

Lumina is pretty nice in Crota's End for buffing sword-holders though.

you're gonna 2 sword anyways so the lumina is unnecessary

overrated exotic outside of speeds/day1 like you said

And make 2 sword on master a lot more reliable if otherwise a hiccup happens.
