Is it true the vex incursion zone chest gives you a legendary armor you didnt unlocked yet ?

Exotic one. Yes. it's on a knockout system. after you unlocked everything for the class it's random

Legendary ones are either unobtainable anymore(old raids, for example) or drop from Dares of Eternity(on rotation) or bought from Gunsmith\Ada

legendary is purple. what you mean is Exotic and it's yellow
