play with a fireteam and ask for them, but if youre solo you can do strikes or 3 person seasonal activities.

i wouldnt say do pvp because no one commends buut on activities dont leave the game when youre finished just wait it out

You can farm commendations with 1 other person if you repeatedly load a cp on some of the lightfall/wq campaign missions

Or you could play the game regularly. That could do it too 💀
