#New Light Advice

My wife is getting into Destiny (against me telling her not to) because she finds it to be the easiest game she could play with me. The only shooter she has played and enjoyed was Halo.
I myself am already at endgame, with crota being the first raid i attempted challenge mode and got the title for, and wanted to know what would be the best tips for helping her enjoy her D2 experience.
To be honest my advice would be to avoid doing raids until like 100 hours because you wanna get the basics of the game down before worrying about other mechanics specific to few activities.
I assume you’re halfway decent, OP?
(Like you’ve done all the raids you own the dlcs for, you have decent armor and weapons, etc)
Because if that’s the case you could probably carry her through stuff so she can get halfway decent armor and a couple usable crafted guns
I think it depends on the kind of gamer she is. If she likes lore and story I would recommend to focus on story-loaded activities, campaigns, some exotic quests, etc.
If she likes to do crazy stuff, like when a million things explode on screen, get her some builds and let her play some strikes or just have fun in open world.
She will get exotics random naturally, so I would encourage her to try all of them out.
Since she is relatively new to shooters, if I understood correctly, stay out of gambit and pvp, even if a quest requires to play it, do the thing and get out.
When you feel she is ready get a group to help her do some easier raids like DSC and VOG
Thanks for the input! Was thinking along the lines of what you guys were saying and I'll definitely revisit this as I'm writing the guide for her and playing with her
Mainly just get her good armor
Basically every endgame activity after SotHaunted mandates tier 10 resil and some form of healing (from exotics or subclass benefits)
So I would heavily suggest getting her one of the season passes so she can focus resilience armor with engrams (which you could farm with her) which I find usable enough on my alt characters
Focus on 1 character:
Play all the stories first
Unlock stasis and strand
Play the seasonal stories
Power level grind is not needed for stories and will come naturally
Spend all the Glimmer to get all Fragments and aspects
Once you did all the basics you can start getting into farming raids/dungeons for good rolls
Make sure to spend seasonal emgrams for high Stat armor and focus exotic emgrams into the meta exotic armor
