Apex because reconstruction innately provides higher dps because generally speaking, the lesser you have to reload, the higher the dps.
I usually do for instance; Supremacy/Merciless/Apex.
Cataclysmic is still best in slot LFR for crit based bosses (i think).
Ease of use when it comes to DPS over hyper complex rotations any day. Which is why like Taipan can outclass Cataclysmic (if you don’t maximize BnS)
Also why Apex is good; it’s easy to use

Yes, on top of it having bait and switch which overall does more damage than explosive light
