Is Briars Contempt a viable dps option

It’s not as good as cataclysmic with anything but surrounded but it is viable with other dmg perks or beats cata with surrounded

focused fury is not a great option and envious is infinitely better than reconstruction for the LFR

with your recommended perk combo the LFR is just average

Its not though? They both do the intended function of overflowing the mag, and the number of bosses you can get more than 12 shots into before phases end is pretty much 0

surrounded, presumably. Its the highest damage% increaser.

Envious can overflow up to 300% of the original mag size.

Reconstruction can only give you a 200% magazine size

It's not minmax when the ceiling isn't used and the floor is lower than recon
Recon will recharge just from phase transition, envious needs ads kills

Okay but when are you NOT killing Adds? Regardless of if the ceiling is used or not, less reloads means more damage uptime

I mean he is stating fact Briars is average with any dmg perk outside of surrounded its viable with focused fury and you will be fine but if your going to run it you might as well do surrounded or just do bait and switch

if you want to try argue for recon just use rewind it gives the same refund as recon without any need to wait and does it after a reload as well

Rewind is good for long boss phases but it fails on heavy use for champs
Recon is just too useful everywhere

if anything it is better on champs

rewind does legit the same amount of extra shots as recon but if your using it on champs you can shoot 10 shots with recon or rewind for example

reload and then do it again with rewind for the next 1-2 champs recon your back to a normal mag
