If I'm doing an activity that's recommended 1600, and I use a 1600 gun, but my overall light is 1750, will my weapon damage lower?

yes even with overall light being 1750 the weapon being 1600 does effect its damage

It's always the gun itself that needs to be on/above light level, otherwise it does alot less damage. Same with your armor, average needs to be on light or you take more dmg

weapon level works until i think 20 above? so a 1700=1720>1600
unless it's a hero/legend/master/gm/day1 challenge activity that caps your lvl at its activity level

20 above is correct. after that you will not benefit with damage
