Other that when the glitched weapons were out, I've never done a grandmaster nightfall. I don't know what power level I should be, how much harder it would be etc. etc.. I'm power level 1820 right now.

your power level is what you should be at
max power level is 1815 i believe
all you have to worry about for gms is not being stupidly close to enemies
just bring a bow or something long range
survivability is very important

My two main builds are strand/assasin's cowl or solar/pheonix protocol. I'd imagine well is better right?

yeah i wouldnt do strand assassins cowl
you can use arc assassins cowl but its really risky if you dont know how to play that style
but phoenix protocol is the safe way for gms so you'd be good with that
