lol... the type doesn;t matter. It's best to use matching weapons to synergize with your class. There are exceptions, usually with the seasonal artificact.

there was a seasonal artifact perk a few seasons ago, that granted you volatile weapons on orb pickup

Eveyone used void weapons regardless of subclass. However, generally it makes more sense to run solar weapons on a solar subclass so it synergizes well.

Void - explosion (volatile), health on kill (devour)
Solar - burning (scorch), explosions on 100x scorch stacks, restoration
Arc - blindness and jolt (chain lightning)
